Hi guys!! My dh and I are taking my ds to WDW in the end of September for his early b'day (Oct.11) celebration. I want to get him a b'day cake for one of the dinners we are going to....here are most of the ressies we have...which one would you suggest ordering the cake for?? I think some rest. will give him a free cupcake or something like that so I don't need a cake at every meal...I just want him to have one BIG celebration with a cake and then the rest of the nights we will just do a smaller celebration...anyone have a preference or experience that might help me decide?

I hope you made the note on your ADR of the birthday... If not, call back and make sure they know when you check-in at each restaurant...

*Chef Mickey will give him a cupcake and placemat
*Tony's decorated the table and gave my son a big ice cream

I would go with Le Cellier or Coral Reef... These are very special places with a nice atmosphere and really good food....

I would not go with any of the buffets or character meals.

We're doing our honeymoon in May and I decided to surprise DH (soon to be) with a cake at our 1900 Park Faire dinner. The GF bakery seems to have a great variety of cakes and selections, so that's why I decided to do a GF restaurant. I am also arranging for the personalized menu and diver at Coral Reef and hope to do something special at YS and Narcoosee's as well, but haven't yet. I think they also offer the personalized menus.

1900 park faire is at GF, where you could order a mini castle cake for your DS during dinner - they are so adorable!!

I think 1900 Park Fare would be great, even for a late breakfast (I know, cake for breakfast ;) ) but I was thinking what great character interaction we had there. I can just see the Mad Hatter making a big deal over him and Mary Poppins, too! GF is supposed to have the best cakes. Dinner would be special b/c Cindy and the Prince would be there.

I even wonder if it would be fun at Garden Grill, though, since it's not usually so chaotic and you have Mickey there! I vote FOR character meal since he's so little.

Or 3rd choice-Coral Reef. They did a great job with my DH's birthday bringing out the choc. covered strawberries I had ordered. Lots of attention, other guests singing and everything. I know your little guy would love the fish, too.
Wonderful service and we did the diver/menu thing, too.

Those are my top 3 if that helps!

We had a wonderful cake delivered to Park Fare during breakfast. Our ressies were for 10:10 but I had planned ahead and knew that we would be going back to SSR afterwards. My daughter turned 9 and was so pleased not only by her cake (fabulous, thanks to Linda at the GF bakery) but by all the attention that she received from the characters and other guests eating. The restaurant had a box ready for us to transport the cake back to our resort and we didn't have any issues. Plus it made for a great snack for the next few days.....

Something to consider... why not send a cake to your room? We did that for my DS's birthday at USO a couple of years ago. We planned to not be there when it was delivered so he'd be surprised when we arrived back later. However, our plans changed and we decided to go swimming that afternoon, so we were in the room almost ready for the pool when the cake arrived.

He was very excited. They provided candles, plates, forks and napkins. The best part was the next morning when we had leftover cake for breakfast!
