Which restaurant to skip when doing Palo

My DH and I have decided to try Palo on our upcoming 3-day cruise in October (he is Italian so it's a no-brainer). The twist is our two DS (ages 11 and 8) are really dead-set against the dress up dinner - so would we be crazy to skip Triton and do Palo that night? There are even more twists to this story (we have a divorced dad and his two DD's traveling with us too) but I won't get into that now.

Is Palo worth skipped one of the rotations? We would have done the 4-night but our DS's school schedule made it tough. Thanks for any help!

Lisa, if you're kids are dead-set against the dress up dinner and you and your dh want to dress up I suggest skipping Triton and do Palo. Palo is wonderful and you won't be disappointed. HTH

I agree. Definitely skip Triton and do Palo. You won't be disappointed! And the kids will be happier not to have to dress up!

Palo is far better than any of the rotation restaurants. Don't worry about missing something in the dining rooms for Palo.

Also, do they still want you to dress up for Triton's? I thought that they went back to "resort casual" there. They did for Lumière's on the Magic.

I thought they kept Triton's as a "jacket" restaurant to serve as the "formal" night on the (shorter) Wonder cruises. Lumiére's was changed to resort casual because depending on your dining rotation, you would need differing amounts of "formal" outfits - and of course, you don't know your dining rotation for sure until you check in. With all restaurants as resort casual, Magic cruisers only have to plan for formal, semi-formal, and tropical nights, attire-wise.

Of course, I don't know any of this for sure, it's just what I think I've figured out. YMMV.

... I'd just as soon skip PALO's!

Check the menus on line then decide. I think Parrot Cay is beautiful as well as Tritons/Lumieres but I never have cared for Animator's Palate. I think that's because there are no windows and it feels crowded. The change from black/white to color was great the first time we saw it, but it's no big deal now.

My kids hated the dress attire in Tritons and of course that's the restaurant that we got for 2 of the nights on both of our 4 night cruises. The second time around we skipped Tritons one of the nights and enjoyed Palos. I wouldn't skip Palos, it's the best restaurant in my opinion.

If nothing else, at least TRY to get to the brunch - it was wonderful!!!

The one complaint I have about Palo is the fact that people can walk past the windows while you are dining and that's very distracting. I think they should stop traffic during the dining hours there.
