Which of the two Table Service restaurants in Mexico is your favorite? Why? We've only tried to QS window a couple of times but thinking of trying a TS this trip.

Thanks

We like both, for different reasons. The atmosphere at San Angel Inn in the pavilion is very nice. Watching the boat ride and the volcano during dinner is a different experience.
But for this trip in 3 weeks, we are returning to La Hacienda.
Enjoy

I really enjoyed San Angel Inn. The atmosphere is amazing and the food is really good too if you enjoy Mexican food. I've never had a problem with any staff there or anything either. I've even showed up to a reservation 45 minutes early and they were still able to seat us ahead of time. In my opinion its just top notch service there.

La Hacienda has WAY better food. But - it does cost more than San Angel - and the atmosphere at San Angel is fun. San Angel reminds me of any generic table service "American Mexican Food Chain Restaurant". It's fine to eat - but not unique or awesome. My service as a solo diner there has been poor twice - but I've watched couples and 4-tops get much better service - so I think it was more about MY service vs a low standard overall. La Hacienda - definitely better food - slightly more unique choices, flavor profiles delish! And service is more refined. If I'm looking for a great meal - La Hacienda. If I just need an average table service meal - and most likely looking for a last minute ADR - I'll still go to San Angel.

I agree with everyone, for atmosphere San Angel is better for service not so much. I've never had a problem with the food there but it is almost always crowded and it seems to be luck of the draw as to what kind of service you are going to get. We wandered into La Hacienda in May, around 5 or so we were hungry didn't have ADRs anywhere didn't want QS and thought why not. Got seated right away, got good service. The menu is different than San Angel, I'm guessing it's a regional thing. I'm not sure I'd say it was any better, just different. I think you'd be fine with either one.

La Hacienda has far superior food to San Angel Inn. I also like the location better - you can see what you're eating, you can look out on the world showcase lagoon. San Angel is too dark for my taste and everything there I can get from an inexpensive Mexican restaurant here locally. I got the Del Mar for 2 at La Hacienda and everything was cooked to perfection and it's not something I can get locally.
