Hi!

We'll be at WDW in August. We'll be there during our Anniversary this year. My brother and his family will be there and have offered to take our DD for the night so we can go out to dinner.

Question is.... where to eat? We have eaten at California Grill before and loved it and we have also eaten at Flying Fish Cafe but they were both years and years ago.

I was thinking of Le Cellier.... we have never dined there and always read great reviews.

We like just about anything.... steak, italian, seafood, etc....

Just thought it would be fun to read some opinions that might make me aware of restaurants I hadn't considered.

Thanks!!:)

:)My DH & I celebrated our anniversary at the California Grille last August and it was wonderful! It was our 45th and we were seated by the window with a great view of the castle and our table was decorated with "Mickey" confetti. Our daughter had arranged for a small wedding cake to be delivered and we were given a complimentary glass of champagne. Our meal was delicious, the ambience was wonderful and we had a great waiter. Highly recommend it.

As for LeCellier, imho, it is highly overrated. The tables are very close together with practically no privacy. The food is just ok, too, we have had great steaks there and we have had not so great steaks there. Flying Fish is a good choice and we have only eaten there once and were so rushed we didn't have time to finish one course when the next one was served. Our waiter apologized and apologized but it was too late. The food was good, however. Other choices you might consider would be Narcoosee's at the Grand Floridian or the Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club. Both are excellent as well. Whatever you decide -- Happy Anniversary!

Are you trying to have a romantic meal w/good food + atmosphere?
If so, le Cellier would be pretty far from the top of my list. Are there any price or dining plan constraints?

No constraints:
V&A (in any form)
Flying Fish Chef's menu
Bluezoo (timing can be key - if you're stuck in the lounge area when a convention lets out, it can really stink)
Il Mulino
Citricos, Jiko or Bistro

ddp 2 credits:
citricos
jiko
flying fish (can get a bit noisy)

ddp 1 credit:
I'd try to re-jigger things to free up another credit or pay cash, but if forced to pick I'd actually go with Sanaa instead of LC. :confused3

Restaurants I'd recommend would be:
Artists Point, Citricos, Bluezoo, Jiko, Il Mulino, and V&A (although very pricey)

If you enjoyed Cali Grill, I don't think you can go wrong there. I love it! We are getting married in September and having dinner there after. And the view for the fireworks is wonderful!

Whatever you choose, happy anniversary!! :)

If you can swing it then do Victoria and Alberts, we did this for one of our anniversaries and it was AWESOME! The experience can't be topped, although it was pricey it was worth it!

Otherwise if you are looking for something new other than the two you listed then I would recommend Artist Point, the menu is great. Also try Blue Zoo or Yachtsman Steakhouse, both very good. Le Cellier is good also but not quite on the level of the others, maybe because it is in the park.

If you can swing a little under $400 (including tax and tip) which would be dinner for two and splitting one wine pairing, your absolutely best choice would be Victoria and Albert's. It is one of only 46 restaurants rated Five Diamonds by AAA in the entire United States.

Cg is great, Le Cellier is one of my favorites, but this year we had our celebratory anniversary dinner on xmas night at Il Mulino at the Swan and it was by far the best meal we have had at wdw in the last 5 years(our xmas week trip each year). Its not on DDP, but we stayed one night at Swan on starwood points before we checked inot AKLV and made reservation online and told them it was our anniversary. They congratulated us are we were seated, we were brought champagne before we ordered. The service was impeccable, food absolutely amazing!! And everyone gets Limoncello with dessert. The restaurant is beautiful and relaxing....I WILL return there again.

V&A is the best. Runners up would be any of the finer establishments at the Swan/ Dolphin. The only Disney signature I'd recommend for a special meal is Citricos.

V&A is the best spot to celebrate an Anniversary. We went there for ours a few years ago and loved, loved, loved it.

My second suggestion would be Bistro de Paris in EPCOT. Very nice spot with incredible food.

CG is nice, but way too loud and definately NOT romantic for an anniversary dinner. The food is good, but not as good as other places.

Citricos is a wonderful place as well. The service there is just as wonderful as the food. ::MinnieMo

Hands down has to be Jiko.
The wines, the flatbreads, the service, the menu, the atmosphere,
all perfect for a quiet romantic evening to celebrate an anniversary.

I'll split my vote for Citricos or Jiko. They're both romantic and will be a wonderful dinner. My DH would choose Citricos and I think I would choose Jiko, but it's a close call.

Interesting to see the recommendations here for Il Mulino. We haven't tried it but I wonder if it can come close to a previous Italian restaurant that was at the Swan - Palio. I think that was the best meal DH and I ever had!
