Not necessarily the most decadent, gourmet places, but what restaurants do you wish you had in your hometown?

Mine: Earl of Sandwich. I can't stop thinking about it. I want those sandwiches every day. I should move to Orlando... it might be worth it just for sandwiches and cheaper rent!

Cheesecake Factory!

I hear they're building one at the mall here, but I'll believe it when I'm eating there. :)

Oh, I am so with you on Earl of Sandwich! I could also go for a breakfast buffet like CP or Cape May maybe.

DD8 would probably pick Cosmic Ray's, mainly for Sonny Eclipse. I enjoy that when we go to WDW, but if I had to do that every week, with the same jokes, I'd go nuts. :)

Although we have lots of favorites I would NEVER pay those prices outside of WDW :rotfl2: I agree on the Earl of Sandwich. We eat there two or three times every visit  it is so yummy and affordable.

You will be happy to know that Earl of Sandwich has started their expansion. I recently read that they have started work on another one, but I forget which city they are build it in.

The intent all along was to make it a chain.

Reality - possibility -
Landry's to open a RFC near my home.
At least within an hours drive.

Le Cellier... but my waistline and bank account are glad we don't have it here because I'd be seriously overweight and poor from eating bucketfuls of cheddar cheese soup!!! :teeth:

Not from WDW, but from Orlando....SWEET TOMATOES! Its a tradition for us to eat here on our first day before we even check in. YUM! I could say some of the WDW restaurants, esp LeCellier and Ohana, but we couldn't afford to eat there so reality tells me Sweet Tomatoes. Besides, having a WDW restaurant here would take the fun out of it when we go to WDW! :)

Boulangerie Patisserie!

There is a severe lack of GOOD bakeries with pastries in my area - I know, I've tried them all. Plenty of good bread and doughnuts in the area, but all of the pastry counters are severely lacking.

'Ohana, Rainforest Cafe, Pepper Market...heck, I'd even take a Planet Hollywood or House of Blues - any kind of fun touristy kind of place I would love here. I don't live in a tourist area (near Raleigh, NC) so there aren't any restaurants like that here (all chains like Chilis, Applebees, steakhouses and such), uggh it can be boring. They need stuff like the above-mentioned and more stuff for kids (the most they have here is Adventure Landing (mini golf and go-carts, Chuck E. Cheese (no thanks) and Bullwinkles. What they need to do is follow through with the rumor that keeps popping up every few years, that they are going to build a Six Flags park near here, but noooooo...

We too are at a lack of a good bakery so I would have to go with Main Street Bakery. But I'm afraid if they did I would have to get a job there and that might not be a food idea. Also I don't remember the name of it but the ice cream stand at the end of Sunset Boulevard near TOT has the best ice cream. Well you see where my priorities are when it comes to food :confused3 .

I'd love to have a Victoria and ALberts, so we could dress up and leave the kids with a home sitter. Not a big fan of leaving the kids on vacation.

Tchoup Choup and Emeril's, although as someone else said, I would gain way too much weight if I had them in all four cities in which I spend time.

It's time to leave the Containment Area for Relocated Yankees (Cary, NC to the rest of ya) and move down here---you know you want to!

That might be the best news I have ever heard! Where did you get that info?

I found an article on line that said Earl of Sandwich is opening in Tampa and they are hoping to expand like starbucks did. I have a feeling it will take a while to get to me on the west coast. Bummer.
