Which restaurant did you hate that's raved about on the DIS?

Le Cellier. Cheap meat. Golden Corral here at home is better. 1900 Park Fair - bland hospital food.

JIKO! JIKO! JIKO! - it stinks, people rave about it so much it makes me feel like these people have never been to a good restaurant. Everything but the food is good there.

I didn't hate any restaurant..but I was not thrilled with Le Cellier at all..and I tried it twice. DH didn't really enjoy 'Ohana and neither one of us thought Chef Mickey's was very good.
That said, we'll be back at CM the first night of our trip this September b/c I think the kids will love it, and it wasn't terrible, just not great like some people rave about.
Oh, Alfredos made DH and I SO sick one night. That is the one WDW restaurant that I will never step foot in again.

I just noted in my trip report that Chef Boy Ardee` could barf something better than the spaghetti and meatBALL that we had. Disgusting!

Aside from Kimonos, on this trip, my husband can outcook all the chefs at WDW and he cooks for a hobby! He is in law enforcement and watched cooking shows during his off-time before we met. We have enjoyed Wolfgang Pucks in the past. It's also very hard for us to spend so much money on something that is better at home and costs so much less. However, on vacation at WDW, we love the service, atmosphere and we don't have to clean the kitchen. DH can make a mess...

Beaches and Cream. I got food poisoning that had me praying for death for a couple of hours. YUCK!!! Not if I was paid to go back there and eat the stuff with someone else's mouth!

We did not hate it but we definitely have not yet figured out what all the hype is about Boma.

I've never hated any of the restaurants, but there are a few places that we won't be rushing back to.

Garden Grille--The food wasn't all that great, and I got dizzy. I've eaten at lots of rotating restaurants, but this one was more than I could handle. I think that the fact that you aren't that high off the ground, so everything that's standing still is so close, has something to do with it.

Mama Melrose and Tony's--Both were fine, but the atmosphere wasn't anything spectacular, and I can get better Italian food at restaurants closer to home.

This isn't full service, but I didn't like my chili at Columbia Harbor House. The menu there looks great, but neither DH nor I were impressed with our food.

California Grill-- Great view, bland food.

Mama Melrose-- Our server was great, a very sweet lady. However, the food was not good. I had 3 in my party and everyone agreed.

I don't believe that we have hated any restaurant. However, there are a couple that we won't return to:

Bongo's - the food was not that great, the service was poor, and they pack you in.

Chef Mickey's - minimal character interaction, a sloppy buffet and overpriced.

We couldn't stand the food at Hollywood & Vine. Out of all the WDW buffets we've been to, this was by far the worst!!!

Sci-Fi Dinner was nothing to write home about.

Donald's Breakfastasourus didn't rate with us either. The character intereaction was minimal at best (we barely got an autograph and a picture before Donald ran away from us) and the food was sub par.

ABC Commissary-- YUCK-YUCK-YUCK

Coral Reef-- loved the atmosphere. Food was blah-- and lunch cost us over $60-- OUCH!

Alfredos-- didn't impress us at all. My DH is an alfredo lover-- this is what he orders at any Italian place. He DID NOT like Alfredo's alfredo at all. Go figure.

Haven't seen this one listed yet, but we are definitely not fans of Rose and Crown. Food was yuck!

Donald's Breakfast (AK)
We went Sept 02 and will not go back. We had an
early PS and had to wait in the heat to be called
for our time. It was like being in a herd of cattle and being rushed around. The food was so-so
and only 2 characters stopped at our table. Donald
just ran through, didn't stop. It was a big relief
to get away from that small table, the crowded area, and the overall bad experience that we had
here. I guess I just expected more and it was a big disappointment. Never again!!

I thought I was the only one not to thrilled with the restaurants at WDW.

We have only gone on two trips, one 7 nights and the other 10 nights. So there are many places we never tried.

But never been disappointed with a counter service besides the pizzifari at AK. Ordered the hot dog and chips. The bun we hard had to go back and get fresh ones. and the chips tasted just like card board. DD oredered the pizza and enjoyed it.

I didn't hate these restaurants but not in no hurry to go back.

We weren't crazy about Artist Point. It wasn't awful but I don't think we'll ever go back.
I also didn't think the buffet at Hollywood & Vine was that good.

Alfredo's - horrible

Tony's - very disappointing. The bread was especially gross. Chef boy ardee is 5 star compared to this one.

California Grille- Terrible food thats way way awy overpriced.

Chef Mickey's- we used to really enjoy this place but have since had several very poor experiences. The food is sub-par at best and on our last visit I found a hair in the desert which sent me hurling into the bathroom. When I returned my brother had told our server what had happened. The manager came over and asked "WHat I expected him to do?" I politely said since I had lost all of my dinner in the bathroom I full well expected the cost of my dinner to be absent from the bill! I didn't care for his attirude and the food quality just isn't there. Haven't returned in several years.

Donald's Break- They don't have enough characters or servers to accomodate the number of customers they cram in this place.
