Which restaurant did you hate that's raved about on the DIS?

Hate is too strong a word, but we did not like Liberty Tree Tavern or 50's Prime time cafe.

Okay, this one will get me in trouble, but Cindy's breakfast was not our cup of tea. The character interaction was so-so and the food was not very good at all. We did it once, but we wont again and we have 3 girls. It actually feels good to not have to do the early morning fight for that ressie!! LOL!!

Also, count me in on not being fond of Whispering Canyon or Donald's breakfast.

We were not fond of... I'm a little afraid to type this again.. but.. Here I go..
Mama Melrose
(closed my eyes as I typed this .. think that'll help soothe the Mama fans?)

We won't ever go back, no matter how much raving we read....
going to hide from all the Mama Backlash now...
:smooth:

I have 3 oldies but badies ... 'Ohana, Le Cellier and Artist Point. I will probably never return to any of these places.

From my most recent trip add Boma's for breakfast. The food was OK, but terribly overpriced. For that kind of $$ I'd like some character interaction. Speaking of character interaction, the 1900 Park Faire Princess Dinner was a disaster. The food was terrible. They did very little to replenish the food and what was there was cold and yucky. The touted bread pudding was 80% empty for most of the time we were there and I never even tried it because it looked gummy on the inside and crusty on the outside. The character interaction was OK once they made it to our table, but we had to wait almost an hour for Cindy, Charming and 2 mice to make the rounds. Nope. Never again.

Le Cellier - the steaks were fatty and yucky and service slow during a quiet time (late lunch) in the restaurant. Won't be going back.

Cindy's breakfast, service was bad, food was so-so and the character interaction was lacking.

Was there 4 years ago with older DS and the food was pretty bad (cold and bland, etc.), and it was so noisy!
HOWEVER, I'm leaving Friday with younger DS 12, and he really wants to try Chef Mickey's, so we have a PS there for Friday night  !! I'm hoping food has improved (secretly hoping we decide to eat somewhere else ;) ).
Will write food reviews when we return. . . .

Cindys - HATED IT. We will not go back. And I have 2 daughters. The food was terrible and the waiter was a JERK! He ruined our whole experience. We will not go back.

Crystal Palace - always crowded. Always messy. The food is terrible. You can visit with Pooh and TIgger somewhere else. Yuck.

Garden Grille - I don't have any complaints about the food. It's alright. But the waiters and waitresses are RUDE! Never met a friendly one. We've been several times and once we had a waiter that would not leave us alone. Kept coming over and wanted to show us things on our DW map. Even when we told him we've been many, many times. Drove me crazy. We won't go back.

50's PT - I know the whole theme. I know "Cousin Bob" is going to pick on me. But sometimes I just don't want to eat all the food on my plate. We skip this restaurant when we're tired and hungry and the kids are on the verge of a meltdown because of the CM's. I don't "hate" this restaurant. The food is okay. I just can't relax in there.

Last year we tried the Ice Cream Social at the Garden Grille and it was horrible!
Several years ago we tried Akerhouse at Norway and the food was awful......everything was SO salty!
This year we tried Donald's Breakfast at the Animal Kingdom. We were in very early but the lines for the hot food were insane. Also, the tables are way too small.
Would not do any of these again.

Boma - mushy, bland food, Restaurant Marrakesh-everything tasted the same & didn't enjoy flavors, Liberty Tree Tavern-tried this one twice and thought everything except the salad & bread was bad. The other stuff tasted "TV dinnerish" to me.

Wouldn't say I hated any of our dining experiences.....however.....

Breakfastosaurus had the worst service and character interaction of any of the character meals we did. I think that place is way too large to only have 4 characters.

Crystal Palace, while we had excellent service and character interaction, had the worst food. We went for lunch, and it was plain disgusting. Everything was dried out under the heat lamps, the pickin's were slim, and there was a crawfish stew or something nasty like that that I wouldn't even try, but the rest of the party said was bland.

What surprised me the most is that I've seen people say on the DIS that Donald's is small, and the Crystal Palace is large, and better character interaction is had at Donalds. Maybe I just didn't notice how large CP was because we were right by the buffet and had the characters come by 2 times.

Le Cellier! Better food and service at our Timberlodge at home.

Oh yeah! I forgot about this one. Who on earth sticks two slices of tomato on a plate with some soy sauce and calls it an appetizer? And our server asked me several times where I had gotten the vouchers (Connections) like I was some kind of criminal or something. The only thing worthwhile at that place was the desserts, and dh and I both got them off the kids menu!!

I know I'm gonna get ripped but we absolutely hated Cinderella's breakfast.... I am not kidding. It was one of our worst meals ever. We are however going to try it for dinner next trip.

Some others include: Boma, Tony's, Hollywood & Vine

CP was always one of our favorites. Last Wednesday it was downright disgusting. At the craving station the CM was slicing Prime Rib like it was Baloney and had to beg for a thicker slice only to find it tasteless and cold. We have replaced it on our list.
Fulton’s is the biggest rib off in the park. Food was adequate, but not for that price. Saw two tables look at the menu and leave.

Jiko --- terrible service, bland food, ugly interior, and over priced.

50's Primetime Cafe. I didn't exactly hate it but I thought that the food was blah and the whole premise didn't appeal to me.

Forgot Norway... DH and I couldn't find anything we liked except the rhutabagga (sp?) and the cheese. Everyting else had the same strange taste to it. Must have been some spice they use. We usually love ethnic foods and differnt spices but this was such a strange taste to us. some suggested it might be vinegar, but it wasn't. Might have been too much carraway (which I don't care for) but it didn't seem to be.
