Which Resorts, in what order would you stay?

I would do no more than 1 move, making your stay at BRV the longest and last if that's the way you are leaning.
Visit AKL, its a beautiful resort(both of them)but being it was designed by the same architect as WL/BRV, you may feel a bit one in the same
Stay at BWV or BCV as your front of trip stay. This will afford you proximity to Epcot and HS, skyliner is close by.
Then once you move to BRV, as another poster wrote, you have close proximity with boat transfer to MK, then catch monorail to check out BLT, Poly and GFV

While it's true you can get a sense of how much you may like a stay in a resort by visiting it briefly, I think it preferable to spend at least a night in the resort.

Based on YT room tours and experience dining there, we thought we might enjoy the Poly studio. The studio itself was nicely laid out and newly refurbed. However, various factors such as a cramped elevator (DH uses a powerchair) weighed against our wanting to stay there again.

Nothing that we disliked could have been gleaned from room tour videos or a short visit. We had to stay there to experience the reasons why we ultimately consigned future Poly stays to "Poly Tower maybe."

I always do split stays. My next one coming up in May: 3 nights BLT MK View Studio, 4 nights AKL in Club Level 1 Bdrm, 3 nights RIV Standard Studio.

1. Poly
2. Wilderness Lodge
3. Beach Club
4. Boardwalk
5. AKV - Savanna View only
6. BLT
7. Riviera - Haven't tried yet
8. OKW
9. Grand Floridian - Haven't stayed there yet, but it's just not our vibe
10. SSR

1. Poly
2. Wilderness Lodge
3. Beach Club
4. Boardwalk
5. AKV - Savanna View only
That "short" list is basically everything i could possibly use as options for booking and will be sure to check all 5 out.!!

My ideal plan would be AKL then BC/BW, then BR, then Poly, but I'm just not sure if i can stay at all 4 areas (or if i want to in 10 days), or if i can only do 2 & be sure to check out the others in my trip.

Our "Longest Stay" to-date was 50 Nights (Split Stay 16N-AKV/34N-SSR) in 2023.
Next Year (Winter-2024) we have 63 Nights Booked (1N-HHI/5N-BCV/14N-AKV/34N-SSR/9N-BWV).
We picked up a fully-loaded BWV Resale, and added on at AKV Direct, so we will still lots of carry-over
(bankable points), and I've already begun penciling in our 2025 SnowBird trip. If we can get BWV-Standard View Studio in Jan-Feb, we could possibly stretch our stay to a full 10 weeks. It greatly depends on whether we do another full-family trip in 2025. If we travel with the kids/grandkids, we will chew up points on a 2BR or 3BR, and that may even require some borrowing from future year, but within 2 years after a family trip we usually get back to our extended stay in Studios.
Is there a thread where folks have posted their longest consecutive DVC stay ??

Technically, it's no longer "vacation", now that we're retired.
DVC is our Snow-Bird Provider :goodvibes
Less expensive, and less of a hassle, compared to buying/renting/maintaining a second residence.
I would really like to know who else is doing this, and what the longest consecutive stay has been.:D

That was my dream. I just retired so I may still be able to reach the goal.

I wanted to get out of NJ for 30 days. Originally, I figured the month of February but looking at point charts I think going from after MLK Day to prior to President's weekend provides the time away from winter I want with the use of less points.

Yes - After 2/15 the points start climbing.
We picked up 2 contracts during the middle of COVID, and one early this year right after the ROFR monster fell asleep! 😝
I’m guessing we’ll cross paths in WDW in winter of 2024😀
Enjoy Retirement

Would be funny if everyone from this board wore a name tag or wristband or something, i bet we all criss paths way more often then we think.

@Her Dotness yes adding a night or two at Poly is a definite possibility.!!
Many years ago, there was a "sign" that all Disers could recognize each other at the parks by tying a lime green Mickey Head to their backpack, outfit, stroller, etc. Lime green Mickey Heads were available as paint swatches (I forget the brand) at Lowes. I would imagine you could cut out a lime green MH with construction paper or plastic and it would still be recognized by many of us "old-timers". I can still remember being in Sci-Fi dine inn once with people sitting in front of me, and as they got up to leave, they lifted their backpack and there was the Lime Green MH.

Lime green ribbons were used, too.

We’ve found 2 nights too short. Ends up just 1 ‘real’ day where you wake up and go to sleep in the same room. Not enough time to settle in or truly experience what a resort has to offer.

Next trip is 7 nights and we chose Poly 4 nights + BWV 3 nights as a compromise between what was available and our preferences.

Hmm, setting up an exploratory trip? Poly DVC is pretty cool to start. You have MK, all the lagoon resorts, and monorail access to the front of Epcot. Then maybe move to BW or BC, doing HS and the back of EP. End at AKV, you can do AK and visit MK again before the trip ends.

Yeah AKL and BRV have the most similar feel to one another. I would vote one of the Epcot resorts (BCV, BWV, or RIV) for the second resort and if you really want to do three, then either Saratoga or Old Key West for the third. That gives you MK area, Epcot area, and Disney Springs area.

I am waiting for animal friendly FW DVC cabins to decide if we will stay longer than our two week winter trips.

We did a multi-resort split stay last month - with HH in the middle. Tried it and now we know that's too much for a single trip.
Started at GF because we had college-age guests who wanted to do the bonus hours until 1 am. Moved to BW after they left because we like to wander around EP and HS then nap, and repeat. A few nights in HH, then to AK-Jambo and pool time. Ended at SSR for pool and DS.

We learned we are not HH people, but it was worth trying.
We learned we are not SS people, DS is a bit crowded and the pools were just ok.
We learned we like AKL Jambo more than we realized, the pool was relaxing and the variety of dining made a nice stay.

Looking at a split stay next summer - BLT and RIV for a park-heavy trip with guests.

If you have refrigerated items, bring a soft-side cooler along, and leave it with bell services for pick up later - we took it to the incoming resort and it was great to feel 'moved'.

I am looking to do the same - I am thinking Jan 15 to Feb 15th as well - thinking 10 days in Riviera 1BR and now seriously considering selling the resale and doing 20 days in a fort wilderness cabin. I have a golf cart and would drive down with it if they continue to allow outside carts. We will see what the point chart will hold.

My current list ( studio based)
1. BWV
2. Riviera ( moved up 2 spots)
3. BCV
4. Swan. ( not DVC but has great deals at times)
5. Poly

First WDW trip…???
Stay at a highly immersive themed resort.
AKL or one of the Wilderness Lodge Resorts.
A few years ago I would have included the Poly, but no longer.

Yep first time. :)
I’m definitely staying 2 (or 3) nights at AKV to start the week, then ending with 3-5 nights at Boulder Ridge. What is currently up in the air is a possible 2-3 nights between, I’m thinking i’ll probably waitlist Boardwalk or Beach Club and just cross my fingers.

PS. Poly is definitely on my list to check out and probably have a few meals.
