Our trip next year will be with friends and we would prefer the 2nd bedroom with 2 queens. Which of the resorts have ded-2bed and do you have to request this when you make your booking or can they guarantee it?
Thanks!

Dedicated 2-bedroom and lockoff are different booking categories at all DVC resorts. You're booking will specify which you have. If you know you want the dedicated, ask for it specifically when you call for the booking.

Edit: Sorry, that was a poor choice of words. I should have said... All resorts that have dedicated two-bedrooms have them as a separate booking category from the lockoffs.

All DVC resorts except BWV have dedicated 2 bedroom villas with 2 queens in the second bedroom. BWV only has 2 bedroom lock-offs.

One must also be aware that BCV has dedicated 2 bdrms with a queen and sleeper sofa (~50) as well as those with 2 queens (~25). These are all booking categories that should be honored at checkin.

OKW also has lock off two bedrooms with two queen beds in the second bedroom. The only one of that category.

AKV will have them in the new building (Kidani Village) but does not have any in the Lodge building (Jambo House) which is the only part of AKV that is open at the moment. Jambo House only has lockoff 2BRs.

Do note that dedicated 2BRs are a booking category tend to be a more popular category than lockoffs. At BCV in particular they can be difficult to get if you don't call early. So if you can book a 2 br with 2 queens at your home resort, that may be the safest bet.

(At OKW all the 2 BRs have 2 Queens - though they aren't all dedicated - so if its the 2Q that you are primarily interested in, OKW may be a good bet for a switch).

All 44 of VWL's dedicated 2 bedrooms have the 2Q's and we really like the set up there. In that second bedroom, the sink area is huge, and a perfect area for the pack and play without making things cramped. Sleeping bag beds for the children would fit there as well, I think. So far we've only used it for pack and play. June will be the test for the on floor air beds for kids.

I agree Bobbi! We stayed in a VWL dedicated last year and I was surprised how much room was in that sink/closet area! It has a much larger usable space then BCV dedicated units, most likely due to where the connecting door is located.
