Which resort would you NOT stay at again...

All Star Movies...just awful, bus service sucked and shower reeked of piss. Also food court was nasty! Never again.

I’ve only stayed at 2 (Pop and POR) and I’m not sure I’d stay at POR again. It wasn’t all bad, but I really did not like the food court, and the layout was a little tough for my kids to navigate alone without getting lost. And it just didn’t have that Disney feel we enjoyed at Pop.

It was very quiet, which I liked, and we had no problems with the buses, which seems to be a common complaint. But I’d rather stay other places if given the choice.

Whoa; can't believe all the disdain for CBR. Never stayed there, but I always thought the common areas and theming were very cool.

We've stayed at CBR twice and enjoyed both of our visits. We requested Jamaica 45 and were really close to the bridge to OPR and the pool. The buses were always quick and not overly packed. My kids loved the pool area. Especially the splash pad when they were younger.

I think you will find as many people love it that hate it. I personally love it and although the construction right now is a little off putting I will say the Freestyle Machines are great and having little stores in rooms around the resort is pretty cool instead of going to one location. I personally rent a car every visit and like the rooms further away from things so the bigger resort is a plus for me. To each their own.

All Star Music-it made me think of a college lounge where a bunch of kids of kids sat around and wondered. "Let's go to WDW as cheaply as possible and cram as many people as possible into a room." And when I walked by the pool bar, the language wasn't very Disney-like at all!

CBR...never, ever, ever again.

We had gone from YC to CBR in the same trip, so that could have been part of it. We just didn't feel the magic. Food wasn't great, the buses were horrible, and the rooms were majorly run down. No, thank you!

Those who listed Coronado Springs as one they hate, I'm curious, have you been since they've renovated many of their rooms?

No, I haven't...but based on how bad our first stay was, I just wouldn't risk it. We've never stayed at any of the values, but we've stayed at all mods except CBR and all deluxes except WL (but have a trip coming up in December), and CSR is the only one I wouldn't stay at again.

I was surprised to see so many people vote for the BWI...we've stayed at the BWV and loved it and just returned from a trip to BWI and loved it as well. Of course, many of the things people mentioned not liking aren't issues for us...we don't buy/use the refillable mugs, and we rarely eat quick service meals at our hotel (but we actually LOVE the BW Bakery and Ample Hills). The "traditional" (aka "old lady") interior didn't bother me (I actually found it kind of charming), but I can definitely understand why it wouldn't appeal to everyone. And maybe we got lucky, but all the CMs we interacted with during our visits were wonderful.

I guess this thread just goes to show that we all value different things in a resort, and it's important when considering a positive or negative review to really look at the specific reasons cited as to why the person reviewed it as they did. To each his own! :) But I understand why there are so many strong feelings about resorts...for us, it's the most expensive part of our trip, and it always stresses me out when it comes time to choose one for fear I'll choose wrong and it will ruin our (very expensive) trip!

Any of the values! The rooms are just sooo tiny and I’m not a in your face theme person. We stayed at AoA for one night before we transferred to the poly and my
Mom who had joined us kept joking she was freaked out by the shower curtain and Eric staring at her while she was sleeping. I guess just not our thing.

We are doing our first stay at BWV in November. Some of these posts had me a bit nervous but once i thought about it most of the complaints won’t bother us. We also don’t eat QS at our resort much. We usually eat before we leave the park for our midday break. We also love the bakery. We have gotten refillable mugs before but i think we will just skip them this time. I plan on making a garden grocer order for drinks, snacks, breakfast and maybe sandwich stuff in case we get munchies. So we will definitely save money and time and i don’t mind that!

I think you will love it! The 1BR villa we stayed in last year was absolutely gorgeous, and I loved having the split shower and bathtub areas, plus the washer/dryer. Our villa was recently renovated and looked brand new, and you can't beat the quick walks to EP or HS. It was one of our best stays ever, and I hope it will be one of yours too! :)

Not that I wouldn't stay there again if we had to but my least favorite resort by far is Boardwalk. I HATE having to go out to the boardwalk for all the food options and that clown is just terrifying (have you even seen it at night? He'll eat your soul!). I also found the staff there to be less-than. They ranged from unenthusiastic, to indifferent, to outright rude.

Us too! We found the resort layout confusing. It was our second leg of a split stay and we arrived by boat , not knowing this was the back of the resort?? We couldn’t figure out how to get in. We couldn’t believe the lobby, or lack thereof, a big let down after coming from AKLJ.
The pool was small, the pool dining never open during our whole stay.
And the CM at the lobby were rude. Indifferent.
We thought the whole place to be weird, and my family won’t go back, even choosing a mod instead.

Would stay at a value for a one night add on anytime, but due to the crazy pools, not for a week.
BW, as mentioned.
And WL. Loved the lobby and boat to MK, but too many negatives there for us. We don’t like to be yelled at or given a hard time during dinner. The pool was tiny , the slide four feet long. Walking around outside ( rainy and cloudy trip overall) everything stayed wet. Not a bright, sunny, Florida feel. Walking around the back of the resort hours after rain all of the walkways and chairs were still soaked because they weren’t getting any sun behind the building.

We are going on our 1st WDW vacation this summer, so I can't answer this in terms of where would we not stay again since we haven't stayed anywhere on site yet. BUT...I wouldn't want to stay at a couple of resorts for various reasons:

Poly:
rooms seem too dark
rooms look like they were decorated in the 60's & 70s. SO UGLY!
whole place kind of looks like a sad copy of the real Hawaii
I'd rather go to Hawaii instead and spend the same amount of $$

Coronado Springs:
too similar to home (southwest US). When I go on vacation, I want to feel like I'm getting away from it all, not bringing it with me.
if I'm going to eat Mexican food, it's not going to be at a Disney resort
pool looks neat, but it's not enough of a draw

POR:
too much wood
decorations in the rooms look ugly
HATE the way the pool looks
food court looks ugly & depressing. too dark

Where I want to stay most....
Contemporary Resort
Animal Kingdom Lodge
Wilderness Lodge
Honorable mention - Port Orleans French Quarter

So much canine disdain on this thread. Makes me sad!

As to the topic, for me it's surprisingly the Poly. It's very nice, and a great location, but there's something underwhelming about it that just doesn't warrant the cost to me. Granted it's one of the originals so it is what it is, but boardwalk and beach club are so significantly better that it just surprises me what Poly costs. (yes I know it's the location and being on the monorail, but that's really the main thing)

Agree. I think the fact that it gets so much traffic affects the vibe they are going for. Way too many people going through it all that it doesn’t really feel like it is it’s own resort. Also the last time we were there we were surprised to see how they crammed a play area right beside the main pool. It’s now more crowded ( people and specially) and noisy! We loved the pool and beach before, but the noisy water play and all of the dining tables changed that whole space.

That being said, we love the location and haven’t stayed at the DVC villas yet, so we may try it. They do have some nice walking space, which is the one thing we miss at our fav, AKL.

We stayed at BC last trip and we absolutely loved it. We loved the vibe of the Epcot area resorts. I went with BWV this trip since we rented points and it was the cheapest option for the Epcot resorts....and I did want to try something new. We are very much looking forward to it.

Our first couple of stays at the Poly were fantastic; our last visit, not so much. Our last visit took place after the recent expansion of DVC at the Poly and there are not as many buildings set up for general public and general public not interested in Concierge Level (CL). We don't use CL because we always have a car and visit the grocery store. We have all we need in our room for a fraction of the cost. The resort was more crowded than our other visits (all of our visits were during off-season periods).

I haven't totally dismissed the Poly yet but the last visit has lowered my expectations a tad. Really like the rooms and the resort as a whole so I'd probably be willing to give it another try.
