Which resort would you choose?

My daughter is currently in the Disney College Program and we are going to spend Christmas in WDW this year. We are trying to choose between FW Cabins, AOA Cars Suite, or 2 rooms at Sports. Which would you choose? There are 6 of us, the youngest is 18. We all love Disney, but have never stayed at any of these resorts. TIA

I'd look at the bed-space and then decide where everyone will be happiest sleeping. Two rooms at Sports will give you 4 double beds and 2 bathrooms. You can ask for connecting rooms but might not get them. Will this be a problem for you? At the Cabins you'll get a double bed (or are they queens now?), a set of bunk beds, and a double sofa bed, and only one bathroom. AoA suites give you a queen bed in the bedroom, a double-size convertible table-bed, and a double sofa bed; you'll also have 2 bathrooms. What bedding arrangement is going to work best for you? Are the bunks at the Cabins and the table-bed at AoA big enough for adults? I know that for my family, nobody is comfortable sleeping two people in a double bed, so we'd look at 2 rooms at a moderate, for the queen sized beds. Anyhow, that's how I'd make my decision, by looking at the bed-space.

I'd also say 2 rooms at a Mod as well. CSR or POR to be exact... But for that X/Mas feel, you won't get a whole lot, unless you go to the Deluxes mostly.

I'd be looking at Saratoga Springs 2 bedroom which would be plenty for group of 6, plus with living area and kitchen for celebrating the holidays family style.

Saratoga Springs is next to Disney Springs and Disney U.

Will your DD be staying with you and therefore able to get a cast member discount on the room? She'd probably only get a discount on one room, which means if you do 2 rooms at Sports, you'll pay full-price on the 2nd room. Might make a difference! A 2-bedroom villa at SSR for 6 adults looks like it's about $1000 a night over Christmas! Too rich for my blood, even with a huge discount!

DD will be staying with us and we will be using her discount. (Yay for great discounts!!) We decided to go with AOA, two bathrooms was big a big plus for us. And there were only a few options in our budget still available that my daughter could choose from. I really wanted the Cabins, but in the end two bathrooms was the smarter choice. Thanks so much for all your responses!! 101 days until Christmas with Mickey!! Almost double digits!! ❤❤

From a transportation standpoint, I would go for the AoA Suite. AoA has dedicated busses that run frequently. The resort is also wonderfully themed! I really enjoyed their food court.

I LOVE Ft. Wilderness cabins, however, if you stay there I highly suggest renting a golf cart. The extra $$ quickly adds up, though. Also, with a group your size you will want to get on a waiting list for the higher capacity cart as soon as possible. The boat access to the Magic Kingdom is a life saver at the end of the night and is awesome for quick trips to and from the resort during the day.

I have never stayed at the Sports resort due to the shared All-Star busses for transportation.

Any place is a good place for WDW, though. I hope your family enjoys their trip!!

Yay for AoA! Make sure you take part in the animation classes they have in the lobby every day! They occur to the left of the check-in counters. It is fun to do and it is a free souvenir!

Sounds like you are going to have a great time!

Yes, anyone can join in on the fun! Thursday-Monday 11:00 am, 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
I was so sad when they took the class out of DHS!
Have a great trip!
