Which Resort Is, In Your Opinion, the Most Relaxing?

We will be a party of 4 - 3 adults and an 11 year old.

One of our adults will be spending about half their time at the resort just relaxing with a book. He enjoys peace and quiet and would prefer somewhere he could sit outside on a balcony or deck type of setting.

He is my priority in the resort decision.

Thoughts?

We have stayed at the majority of the resorts. You can see the ones in my signature. WL was by far the most relaxing resort we have stayed at. :cloud9:

It's probably total subjective but I think my picks for most relaxing would be the Polynesian when we stayed there I spent so much time sitting out on our patio and sitting out on the beach with my music and my magazines/books I was in heaven. You can sit out on the beach by the pool if you want more action or go to some of the other beach areas around the resort for something a little bit more low key.

I also like the Boardwalk Inn, it's relaxing in a different way, sitting on your balcony and watching people down on the boardwalk and gazing across the lake to the other Epcot area resorts, I find that really relaxing but I love to people watch so maybe that's why!

I've never stayed at BLT but I bet a lake view there could be really pretty and a nice relaxing view if he prefers to stay in the room/balcony.

Wilderness Lodge is my first choice so that's nice to know. Since he's limited in what he can do, I want him to enjoy it as much as possible.

He's not much on people watching so Boardwalk wasn't on my radar.

The Polynesian was my second thought after Wilderness Lodge.

I loved YC but I also have to say that Coronado is very relaxing.

Hadn't thought about Yacht Club at all. I'll have to look into it some more.

And I would have never guessed the Coronado was relaxing since I've heard it's always so busy with conventions. Nice to know though since it's a less expensive resort!

CBR. So spread out that it feels far less crowded than any other resort. Quiet pools are very quiet, often empty. Lots of tables and benches all over the resort for quiet seating. A great resort to relax, read, swim, etc. No balconies, but we don't miss them there.

We do the same thing with my mom. She found Yacht Club to be perfect. Great balcony, quiet, beautiful beach, covered porch with rocking chairs

When are you going? Not sure I would choose WL because the construction noises will not be very peaceful. They were doing soft renovations at BI when we were there and there was a lot of noise in the daytime. It was not very relaxing. I'd choose a deluxe with no scheduled construction. I'd choose a deluxe over a moderate if a balcony is important. And I'd choose a deluxe with no construction.

The Polynesian. There's just something about the theme that makes me feel more relaxed as soon as I step on property. We didn't even stay there last year- just stopped by for a dole whip, and my entire body relaxed just visiting. It's those Hawaii vibes!

I'd stay away from WL due to construction until at least late 2017.

Animal kingdom lodge is much quieter than the Polynesian. And even without a savannah view, the patios are very relaxing. Around the fire pit in the lobby is also very relaxing.

OMG those who say WL :crazy2:... we found it to be the worst! Especially with the food right there in the lobby... SO LOUD!!! As two adults we CRINGED being there. We actually switched hotels.

I find the MK resorts to be SUPER busy and not very relaxing at all, because it's always crowded with people checking it out (even if they aren't staying there). BW gets a little busy with people going inside/getting to the BW.

AKL is pretty quiet and relaxing, especially with the restaurants away and off from the main lobby area. It's spread out, which helps a lot.

Overall, I vote YC to be the most relaxing. The lobby is never busy, very quiet and laid back. The quiet pool has to be the most relaxing, because everyone wants to be by SAB. There's not really anything to SEE at YC/BC, and unless you're staying there you can't even access the pool complex.

I forgot to add that there are several tree shaded coves out by the pool which are great for sitting &reading in. While perhaps sipping an adult beverage!

We have stayed at Pop, POFQ, CBR, BC, and BWI. Of those hands down CBR was the most relaxing. Very quiet rooms and despite being full never ever felt crowded. At times it seemed like we had the whole place to ourselves. There are no balconies though. But there are hammocks on the beaches at each village.

Wilderness Lodge is currently undergoing a major construction projects. It has been reported that construction noise is heard during the day. Half of the main Lodge is currently closed off affecting the Lobby area. I would not consider it the most relaxing at this moment.

Most relaxing deluxe was the Polynesian for us. The tropical grounds, the beach, the views over the lake all combined to give a sense of peaceful well being. WL is relaxing usually, but not at the moment with construction noise and activity.

The most relaxing moderate was CBR for us. The tropical island atmosphere really had our troubles melting away.

Values aren't relaxing in any way, IMO, but if I had to pick one it might be ASMu. Country Fair in standard - it's a long hike to get anywhere, but it was quiet.
