Which resort has the shortest commute times?

After our last trip, location is a big factor for our upcoming (short) stay in October. I have one of the "Unoffcial Guides" books, and it says Coronado Springs, on average, has the shortest commute times to the parks, which surprises me. Can anyone confirm this? We would ideally like to stay on the Boardwalk, but unless I get a good AP rate or PIN, right now the price is too steep for me, and instead we would need to go with one of the moderates.

To help get a clearer picture............Are you referring to taking your own car to the parks, or using Disney transportation?

I was referring to Disney Transportation, but we are considering renting a car this trip (depending on where we end up staying), so actually I would be interested in hearing about those commute times as well.

We stay in one of the boardwalk resorts because of the ease in getting to the parks. Walk to Epcot via the back gate, walk or boat to MGM, We have entered via the back gate to Epcot then used the monorail to get to Magic Kingdom. We take same back home or ride the bus depending on feet LOL. Animal Kingdom seems to be a half day park for us so we take bus there and back.

To easily access Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and MGM one of the resorts on the monorail line would be another thought.

Nice thing about Boardwalk is the evening fun on the Boardwalk. There a mega food options. Restaurants of the Boardwalk area and all the Restaurants of epcot along with the counter service for each.

Have a fun time

If you are only talking mods, then none of them have a real advantage over all the others. Most will be close to a park, but NO disney resort is close to all parks. We've stayed at many different resorts, and each has at least one park that is easy to get to. But always at least one park that will take a while.

I think your best bet, since you already have the book, is to study the chart in the Unofficial Guide. However, I would advise you to take the times with a grain of salt. With the exception of park closing (the wait to get on the bus can be a bit lengthy when you're exhausted), I've never found resort to park travel times to be unduly long. We almost never take our car-prefer to let Disney do the driving.

We have never chosen a resort solely based on park transportation.

With a car you won't be much more than 20 minutes away from ANYTHING at WDW---no matter where you stay.

You can't choose a resort based on commute times for park transportation, unless you pick a resort based on proximity to one or more parks (monorail resorts or Epcot resorts where you can take alternative transportation or walk). It's my experience that bus transportation times vary at ALL resorts that use bus transportation. A lot of that is due to variance in time spent waiting for a bus to arrive.

Coronado Springs has fewer bus stops of its own than most the other moderates (it has 4; CBR has 7 and POR has 5. POFQ has only one - that would make it optimal except that sometimes it shares with POR)

If you can only do a mod, then I think Coronado would be an excellent choice. Some of the other mods have multiple stop resorts which can sometimes become time consuming.
