Which resort for water parade?

On our AK day, I am planning on having dinner at either Whispering Canyon at WL or O'hana at Poly. My main objective is to have dinner then head down to the beach areas to watch fireworks and the water parade. Which resort would be best for this, WL or Poly? Also, are we even allowed on the beaches at either of these resorts if we aren't staying there (we are at POFQ)? One more question, if I schedule dinner at 7 ish, would that give us plenty of time to get out to view the parade/fireworks?

I would recommend going to the Polynesian and yes you can go onto their Beach even if you are not staying there.

Also here is the schedule of times for the Electrical Water Pageant when it goes past each of the Magic Kingdom Resorts.

Disney's Polynesian Resort - 9:00 pm
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa - 9:15 pm
Disney's Wilderness Lodge - 9:35 pm
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground - 9:45 pm
Disney's Contemporary Resort - 10:05 pm
Magic Kingdom park - 10:20 pm (only during extended Magic Kingdom Park hours)

Yes I agree. I think it comes down to timing and when you plan on finishing dinner. You can watch from the beach at the Poly, but there also some nice views of the Water Parade at the GF and Contemporary. We like to sit on the pier to watch.

WL has a nice view of the parade but not much for the fireworks .... CR Resort Fan 4 Life's suggestion is probably your best bet for both.
