Hi everyone, we already had our annual trip during spring but just can't wait till next year so, we're going again :teeth:

This will be our shortest trip ever and second in many years for the month of August. Crew consists of 11 year old and toddler, both LOVE the pool. We once stood at POP for one night (enjoyed very much) and then had reservations for Poly. We've narrowed it down to Pop and Wilderness Lodge. I'm concerned that August has much too much rain and we don't get to enjoy the pool and then spend the days at the parks after spending $$$ for Wilderness Lodge, any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/info :wave2:

Going to WDW Again :jumping1:

THE PROS
No sharing bus service with other resorts
Centrally located with short rides to the parks
Largest hot tub on WDW property
Awesome main pool area with bar, snack bar, playground and kiddie pool
3 quiet pools
New shuttle service eliminates long walks to any of the villages
High speed internet service
WiFi available too
Free use of the gym
Spa
Fridge in the room
Coffeemaker in the room
Iron and ironing board
full room service menu
2 arcades
beautifully landscaped
central air, not a noisey wall unit

THE CONS
Full size beds (kings size beds are available)
one sink

IN THE MIDDLE
The Pepper Market is either a love it or hate it place. We love it but some folks just don't care for it.

Convention resort - some guests don't like seeing other guests at work. Doesn't bother us and helps keep the buses empty. GF, Cont, BW, Y & B Club are also convention resorts.

I doubt it would rain that much for your trip that you couldn't enjoy the pool. Heck, if it did, you probably wouldn't be enjoying the parks either! If the choice is between Pop and WL, then I vote for WL. I've never stayed at Pop before, so it wouldn't be fair for me to compare the 2 resorts. However, I have stayed at WL and it is one of the most beautiful resorts I've ever stayed at. The lobby is breathtaking. The pool is wonderful. And you can take a boat to MK, which is a nice diversion from the buses.

If money is not really an object, then I'd even go so far as to suggest Beach Club. I noticed you mentioned your kids LOVE pools, and the pool at BC is one of the best on Disney property.

HAVE fun!!!!! :sunny:

We go in August every year and have tons of pool time. In fact last year it only rained a total of 2 hrs for the week were there and yes we were there between the hurricanes. Last year we were at WL and loved every minute of it. We hit the pool every afternoon and in the evenings we were in the hot tubs soaking our weary feet. Pure heaven. :goodvibes

Monday we'll be at POP for the first time for a short vacation and hope for a lot of pool time also. I say go for the WL if you can. The hot tubs can't be beat after a long day at the parks.

We have done several short trips. Beach Club is probably our favorite. The pros for us: the pool is awesome, the back-door entry into Epcot is unbelievably handy; easy access to MGM and Boardwalk by boat. Another short trip we stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter. We chose the smaller resort so we didn't have to waste alot of time walking. The boat dock was close by and we could get to Downtown Disney quickly. Our car didn't have to be parked 3 miles away either. Wilderness Lodge is beautiful, but if your favorite park happens to be MK then I would stay at the Poly or the Contemporary in order to take advantage of the quick monorail. Have fun!
