We have 5 in our family & have stayed at the FW cabins numerous times. We love it. There are many things to do in FW. It is quiet & roomy. The disadvantage over 2 rooms are having 2 bathrooms, however, a huge advantage is the full kitchen. There is also a grill outside. 95% of the time we do breakfast in the room, about 50% lunch & we may do dinner once or twice. I'm not into a lot of cooking on vacation but we love having breakfast in the room because it saves time in the morning. We love to sit on the deck in the morning & evening also. I don't think the cabins are too close together, however, last time we were there they were cutting down much of the "forest" between the cabins because of dryness & they were afraid of fire, so each cabin may not seem as secluded as in the past.
This Nov. (about 3 1/2 wks) we are renting vacation club points at OKW & getting a 2 bedroom unit. I understand this has a full kitchen also. It also has 2 bathrooms & will sleep 8 (my parents are coming also). I will post my opinions when we get back.
We have usually stayed in the cabins during peak times. They are more expensive than getting 2 rooms at All Star, but not more than 2 moderate rooms & IMHO I would rather have the kitchen than the extra bath - but my children are 13, 10 & 10, so the bathroom isn't a huge issue - YET!!
When we don't stay in the cabins & just have a hotel room we take a toaster oven & rent a fridge. This has worked fine also for convenience purposes.
We have also stayed at the Holiday Inn Family Suites. It includes a free buffet breakfast & free lunch & dinner for children under 12 (probably wouldn't apply if you have teens). It is a nice resort. Great pool. The "suites" aren't huge, but they are roomy enough.
My vote would be for the cabins for many different reasons. Good luck with your decision.
