Hello, We are flying in after 4PM the day before our land/sea package starts. For our land portion we will be staying at the BC. We are considering staying at another Disney resort for one night. We do not plan to go into any parks that night- we simply want to relax and enjoy the resort. What resort do you suggest? Some of the Deluxe resorts are not options due to our budget. We would only get the AAA discount.

Ok I have stayed at each one you listed, its a very tough choice, for differing reasons. I chose WL, I was just there in Dec. Its such a pretty resort. Very homey feeling to it. Very relaxing. The Swan would also be a great choice, even though you dont want to visit the parks, you could walk over to the Boardwalk and enjoy all the views. (you can also thke the boat as well but I like the walk) Or even sneak into Epcot through the back entrance, get some pastery in France, catch the show and walk right back to the Swan. After all, you want to squeeze in as much magic as possible!!

I could spend a week at AKL and never leave the park. For one night, you could have dinner at Boma or Jiko, swim in the pool, check-out the animals. Dh enjoyed using the night vision goggles. I was happy watching from our balcony. The "twilight" affect allows you to see the animals late into the evening. Others have posted that they saw few animals at night, but we saw many on both our May and October trips.

I picked AKL. For spending the day at a resort you will have plenty to see with swimming, watching the animals, etc.

no better pick on your list than AKL. Beautiful resort with lots of activities, animals, BOMA or Jiko, nooks and crannies to explore, indoor fire pit, outdoor fire pit with stories, night vision to see animals, art displayed throughout, animals, students from Africa to speak with you about their countries, nice pool for a dip, tours, and did I say animals ?

We always like to schedule hotel time, and this has been by far the best yet for that !

ps Even if you only want to pay for a standard view room, there are LOTS of places for you to observe the animals, even to sit in chairs and watch them. We have had pool view and savanna view rooms, and if I couldn't do savanna I would take a standard view - save the bucks for dinner :earsgirl:

I voted for POFQ because it's very beautiful and peaceful there and won't cost too much. However, if a good restaurant like Boma, Jiko or WC or AP is an important factor then I guess I'd go with WL or AKL. If not, I'd stick with POFQ because you won't have a chance to experience everything at any resort you chose due to time anyway and it really is a nice resort.

For just one night, I would choose POFQ, so you can take advantage of the water taxi to DD. A ver nice slow relaxing cruise to DD. You can eat at DD. You can even head out to PL to have a little more fun at night. And what's so nice about POFQ is that it is less expensive than the deluxe. My vote is for POFQ.

I chose POP because you are getting in so late. The next morning, you can move over to your new resort or to the cruise (not sure which comes first). Even though you are staying at POP, you can take the bus over to one of the monorail resorts or the Boardwalk for a nice meal.

:) Thank you everyone for your valuable input :flower:. I'm going to start pricing my options and go from there! Have a nice day.
