I think I saw a Rainforest Cafe listed at AK as well as DTD. So I was wondering which is better for inside atmosphere? We went to one in TX that was great with the monkey's swinging the birds flapped etc. Then we went to a dif. one in CA and the animals made noises but they were motionless and there wasn't as much fun stuff(giant aquarium and waterfall) to look at. So I was wondering if one was better than the other or if they're both the same? :confused3 Thanks for any opinions or suggestions you can share.

I only at at the one in AK and I was not impressed at all. I got the baked stuffe dlobster, my con gon the ribs, they were tough, my lobster was so so, I wouldn't go to another RF res again based on my one time, it is nothing but a change with a name, not worth it to me :(

Personally, I'd go for the one at Animal Kingdom just because you can make an advanced reservation there. You can't do that at Downtown Disney. I thought the location was much more relaxed than the Downtown Disney one. The effects are about the same with each one.

You can make a reservation at the one at DTD...you just have to call them direct. Check out their website for the # or usually a CM will give it to you when you call for your other ADRs. I would go to the one at DTD.

I have eaten at both several times and don't really see a difference. The one at AK doesn't seem to get as crowded, but that might just be the time of year/day that we have gone.

We have been to other RFC in CA and Vegas, and they are a little different.

I've only been to the one at Animal Kingdom, and when I went two years ago, all of the animals moved, there was an aquarium next to our table, and every so often the restaurant would erupt in the noises of the rainforest.

However, when I went six months ago, I don't recall there being any movement/noise whatsoever. That could just be faulty memory recollection on my part, but I can't remember it being anything like the first time I went.

That said, they have one of the best veggie burgers I've ever tasted, so I'll continue going back regardless.

No difference in food.

Personally, I like the frantic pace of the one at DTD. Don't ask me why. I'm just weird like that.

I like AK better, it seems less crowded. The last time I ate at DTD, we felt we were at the same table as the people next to us, they were so close together.

I would imgaine that a Rainforest Cafe is a Rainforest Cafe. We have gone to the one in our area here twice, and the food is OK. Since we can do this here at home, as well as a Japanese house, we will be skipping these on our trip.

If you are relying on disney transportation and are planning a dinner keep in mind the ak park hours, also if you do go to the one at ak, we were assigned the atlas room once, terrible scenery for the one ds, he was so disappointed, it was a huge gold atlas and the world etc. He really wanted the elephant room etc. So we had to keep listening to his complaints during the meal. Do you belong to the rainforest safari club? We have been to both and I would pick the ak one, we usually do lunch there.

How do you find out what the dif. rooms are? Can you request a specific one? The one in TX was all one big open room. But, we were seated next to monkeys across from the elephants, the kids loved it.

I ate in the one at AKL and it was the same as the one in my hometown of Gurnee,IL and it's located in the Gurnee Mills shopping mall. My kids love going to the one in my area and we're members of the Safari club which gives you 10% off. The food is the same at all of them because it's a chain after all and I've eaten at 3 of them so far without telling the difference. The food is so so and the atmosphere makes the restaurant enjoyable for families.

Don't go for the food...nothing special, think TGI Fridays.

The AK site seemed alot busier and more "fun". DTD was way more laid-back when we visited (as walk-ins).

Still, the kids do luv the storms & animatronics.

We eat breakfast at RF at AK. The food and service has always been great. The same staff has worked there for years and the prices are very reasonable. If you're tired of the same old thing for breakfast, try it! ::MinnieMo

I haven't ever had breakfast at the RFC, but I just checked out the menu and it looks good. Does anyone know how late they serve breakfast? I would like to go on a AK day, but not before I go on some of the wilder rides!

I dont know how they assign the rooms. I never specifically asked if we could have a certain room. I do always make a adr though and also if you are going in summer or warmer weather do not get wet (kali rapids) before going to eat as the air conditioning made our ds freezing etc. Maybe you could say, would it be possible for us to be assigned to the elephant room etc. I know if you go right at lunch time it can get crazy etc. between the walk ups, adrs etc. Good luck.
