Hi all- to save money this year we're going grocery shopping while at the world. To have the best selection of items for our special diet (gluten free, soy free, other things), we want to go to Publix instead of Walmart or Super Target. I THINK there are 2 Publix stores down in the WDW area- which is the better of the two? We're going to be staying at Pop.

TIA :goodvibes

I know of several, the one we used last trip was on 192 near where the western Disney entrances are located, (rte 429?). It was super clean with a great selection and decent prices.

We took Sherbeth Rd from Animal Kingdom and turned right on 192-it was about 1-2 miles on the right.

Will you be at SSR or Pop when you go? If at SSR, head up Hotel Plaza Blvd towards Crossroads. Take a right, and there is a Publix not too far down the road on Vineland. If you are at Pop, you can take a left out of Pop, then left on Osceola, right at Gaylord Palms. If memory serves, the Publix there is in the shopping center on the left when you get to the light at 192.

I prefer the location next to Gaylord Palms. It's on International Dr South and 192.

Reds are gas stations
Purple are grocery/chain stores
and blue lines are roads in and out of Disney property.

For staying at Pop Century. Exit left onto Victory Way, make another left at the light onto Osceola Pkwy. Continue past the I-4 entrance ramps, and Gaylord Palms on your right. Make your right at the first light. And it'll be a couple blocks up on the left. There is a left turn into the Publix prior to reaching the light. There's a back entrance to Walgreens on your right, where the left turn is.

I'm not necessarily a gluten and soy free shopper but do know that you would definitely have a better selection of those kind of items if you get a little further away from Disney. There is a Publix and Whole Foods and a nice Wal-Mart all within a mile or so of each other straight up Turkey Lake Road - it's a short distance further of a drive (maybe 10 minutes more), but a much better selection on "nicer" items than what you'll find right around Disney. The Whole Foods would obviously have even more of a selection and to be perfectly honest Publix does not have great prices so I'd say Whole Foods is relatively competitive with Publix.
