princess: My DD is a princess freak!! My problem is I'm not sure which Character meal would be best. Her favorite princess is Cinderella though she loves all the princesses. I'm not looking to do CRT. I can't decide between Akershus for breakfast or 1900 Park Fare for dinner. Anyone have any suggestions??princess: princess:

Cindy rules at our house too. I can't help with your dilemma though, we're booked into 1900 Park Fare on our first night, and then lunch at Akershus a couple days later. I was really hoping to do a meal at the castle, but when it went to 2 credits on the dining plan, I decided to do the other 2 meals instead, as they are 1 credit each.

wev`ve did both for dinner last trip and got to see Cindy both places., the food and atmosphere is so much nicer at the GF and you get to meet the prince, fairy godmother and suzy and perla also. It is a buffet and you can try the strawberry soup, very delicious!

I would go with 1900 Park Fare. Since Cinderella is the biggie draw for your daugther, you know she will be there at her "gala" dinner! Also, the atmosphere of being at the Grand Floridian is so incredible. And the food gets overall better reviews. Good luck with your decsion!

We are going to DW from 3/7-3/11 and have scheduled 4 character meals so far including the GF for the gala cinderella dinner. I was disappointed that I couldnt get the castle, but some have told me the GF is as good if not better. I originally booked akerhaus, but then saw that the only menu that the adults would have enjoyed would have been the breakfast. I'm glad I've done so much research for this trip.

I was having the same problem. I have dd7 and dd5 and both love the princesses. I decided to do both meals because dd7 loves Jasmine, and dd5 loves Cinderella. We are going to do dinner at GF our first night at WDW and breakfast later in the week with the rest of the princesses. Since we're doing the dining plan I didn't mind doing both!

Thank you everyone :)

I think we'll go with 1900 park fare because Cinderella is a definite there and I would rather have food that we will all enjoy. If we have time or extra dinner credits we'll try Askershus. ( though we'll probably go for breakfast since the food looks kind of funky for lunch and dinner :scared: )

I agree that if your daughter likes Cindy, then 1900 is a good choice. BUT just want to say a few things for Norway. First the Princesses are first rate, really fun and spend time chatting. Second, the lunch/dinner food is really good. Before you go over to the hot dog crowd. Do you eat cheese? Regular roast beef? Regular Turkey? I think ya do. If so, grab some white non-scary bread with some sliced meat and some regular cheese. You can stay away from the caramal colored goat cheese, there are enough safe cheeses.

How about potato salad? They have a KILLER potato salad. Their chicken salad is pickled product free as well. Now for lunch you can opt for:

- Pasta and sauteed garden veggies with herbs and roasted garlic pesto. (how can you mess up pasta?)
- Braised Lamb with thyme oil-infused cabbage (lamb is good, you can push the cabbage to the side unless you are feeling brave)
- Slow Cooked Meatballs with mashesd rutabagas and a lingonberry demiglace. (before you go eeewwwww about the rutabagas, I thought the same thing. HOWEVER, they are just like mashed potatoes only BETTER. They are a little sweeter. You would never know.

Their trout is FABULOUS, so moist with a nice thin breading and mashed potatoes.

Their soup and salad combo is also WONDERFUL and not weird at all.

The kids menu includes:
Grilled Chicken Breast with Corn and Potatoes
Cheese Ravioli with Pepperoni Sauce
Pasta and Meatballs wtih tomato sace
Hot Dog with Corn
Turkey and Cheese rollup on Leftse with grapes.

The only remotely weird thing there is the leftse bread with is similar to the tortilla but a little sweeter and a tad thicker. Everything else is Mom, Hot Dog and Apple Pie "normal".

So those are some non-weird foods. The cool thing about a buffet is that you can try the "normal" stuff and then if you are feeling brave just take a wee spoonfull of "weird food" to try. If you don't like it - fine but it was only a wee taste so it's not like it's your whole meal.

Princess Aurora, thank you so much for the reviews of psb lunch! I booked my lunch for my april trip and cannot wait! I loved your reviews and pictures!Do you have more pictures to post-any of the princesses? I would love to see them! Thanks again for the reviews! :sunny:
