So, I wear mine in my back pocket. My shirts or tops usually go over my pants, instead of tucked in, so it kind of hides the phone.

How odd to hear that phones are placed differently according to gender. Almost everyone here that I've seen wear their phone in their back pocket, men & women. Especially when it's one of the bigger 6" touchscreen phones (which I have.) Only a couple people I've seen have a special waist holder. And maybe one male had it sticking sideway out of their front pocket.

How does a large touchscreen phone fit into the front pocket? :confused3

I am all over the place with where my phone is! LOL Depends on season, really. And around the house it is rarely carried around in clothing.

Wearing a coat, in the coat! I have 3 main coats that are basically the same with only one difference. I purchased 2 at Macy's (black and off white) and they have zippered front pockets where I put my phone (right pocket.) The same brand coat bought at Kohl's (gray) doesn't have zippered front pocket, so it is placed in inside coat pocket (left side.)

No coat with jeans: back right pocket, screen facing body.

Leggings: in that hidden waist pocket if needed with no purse. (i.e., Disney)

Shorts: front pocket, either side if purse isn't around.

And about 60% of the time if I am out and about it goes from purse, to pocket, to phone cup in car. I don't have a set place for my phone except the car. :p

Wondering, which way should your phone face when it is in your pocket? Screen towards your body - or facing away from your body? Or, does it matter?

Wear it inward. One good, accidental whack on the phone, if facing outward, could mean a cracked screen. :headache:

It’s more difficult for women to put them in pockets because our pockets are so small. Between the risk of it falling out, or being damaged when sitting, I have never put a cell phone in a front or back pocket. I have occasionally put a phone in the lower leg pocket of cargo pants (near the knee), if the pocket is large enough and fastens securely. Otherwise, it’s in my handbag.

Yes, for work I need to wear black pants. But, I can't find any good black dress pants with patch pockets, (or deep enough pockets with slit openings,) in the back for the phone. So, I have to wear black jeans. They have a very short life as work pants though, as jeans fade fast. I'm constantly buying black jeans to replace the faded jeans for work. (I'll wear them everywhere else.)

I agree. None of my office pants have pockets at all, so I never got used to carrying a phone in a pocket. The aforementioned cargo pants I wear on vacation, so I don’t have to carry a purse. I have a large assortment of small-ish crossbody bags that I use on an everyday basis which only hold the phone and my small wallet, with the key ring attached to the strap. The bags fit well in a desk drawer when working (we weren’t supposed to have personal phones on at work).

Female - front left pants or left jacket pocket. Don't usually carry a purse. I don't put ANYTHING in back pockets.

My DD did have a relatively new phone stolen right out of her back pants pocket at a bar once. Don't think she keeps it there anymore.

Would have liked to be able to vote more than once on this one. 😆

most of the time - outer pocket of my purse
if no purse (like just out in the yard) it totally depends on my clothes:
first choice - left jacket pocket
if not coat weather, then left jeans pocket
unless I have certain pants on that have a perfect cell phone pocket on the leg
or one particular pair of flared jeans that has "back pockets" on the front

At any rate, the screen faces "in" whether purse or pocket.
Did I write this? 😂 Same to everything you said.

I'm female, I'm almost always in leggings so my phone is in the leg pocket on my thigh. Otherwise its in whatever pocket it'll fit on with falling out

For Me it depends on where I’m at, and what I’m wearing.

This would never work for me. The phone would get hit or crunched in no time. :headache:

I've been remodeling at home the last couple months. I've been putting things down anywhere that there's space until it can get moved to it's new spot. Then forgetting it and turning around later and bumping into it and whacking my thighs. I've had bruises all over my thighs. If I had a doctor's or GYN appointment during this time, they'd probably report me somewhere, claiming I'm being abused or, if they believe that I live alone, that I'm "a danger to myself" if not to others. :lmao:

No way would a phone last being moved around my body.

When I had a flip phone most of the time it was in my front pocket. But once I got a slider and after they were just too big so the times that I put it in a pocket it goes in the back.

Generally speaking my phone doesn't go in my pocket just every now and then. Usually it's in my hand or my purse or if wearing a coat then my coat pock or a jacket my jacket pocket (when the pocket is big enough).

Female. I always carry my phone in my purse. If I absolutely have to put it in a pocket it would be back right. I don’t think it would really fit in my front pockets. A few weeks ago I went out with dh and didn’t bring my purse. I had my phone in my back pocket. Walking around Target I realized my phone was gone. I ran back to the car and it was on the seat. It fell out and I didn’t even notice.

I'm a female and it depends on the pants I'm wearing. Some of my pants have a deep enough front pocket so I use that, either side. Some of them (jeans) don't have deep enough pockets so sometimes I put it in the back but usually I either carry it in my hand or carry a small purse. All my shorts and skorts have deep enough pockets in the front, I won't buy them unless they do.

I can't imagine being pregnant AND wearing an extra forty pounds!

I can understand that with what seems to be what most women wear. I have 2 grown now daughters and was married 17 years. I've always wondered what the use of your pockets are because they aren't very useful.

I carry a lot of things so buy pants/shorts with cavernous front pockets.

Thus, the answer is front right pocket by itself.

Left front holds large ring of work and home keys to 3 different homes, pocket knife, usually a handful of small allen head wrenches. Various nuts, bolts, screws, brackets, air chuck... Back left holds wrenches, screw drivers, pliers, razor knife, whatever longer handle tools I'm using. Back right holds only my wallet and a Streamlight flashlight next to it on the outside so I'm not sitting on the light itself it in the car marring up the leather. The keys, knife, phone, wallet, and flashlight is EDC. The rest is depending on the project I'm doing when I'm not at home doing nothing like now.

Depends on the activity. I was out on a bicycle ride with my phone in my front shorts pocket facing my leg. Well, I sweat when I ride the bicycle and my coworker buddy and I got back to the cars of our becoming daily ride after work and I could hear someone talking. Pulled my phone out and my sweaty leg pocket dialed my then separated going through the process wife. She could hear us talking for about 20 minutes.

Immediately in panic I thought, what the heck was I talking about for the last 20 minutes being I was thousands into the divorce process and well on to losing everything I've worked for my entire life by then to her.

women put phones in our back pockets because the fashion industry won't give us normal pockets. Pockets are for putting things in and the front pockets on most women's pants you can't even fit your whole hand in it, let alone keys or a cell phone, yet men can fit their keys, phone, handful of change and a can of beer in one of their front pockets. I'm a woman and I usually keep it in my back pocket out of necessity, but it's annoying when you have to remove it every time you want to sit, or before you go to the ladies room (how many of us have almost lost our phones in the toilet because we pulled our pants down with a phone in our back pocket?). Screen faces my butt because that's squishy enough to protect it if I accidentally sit on it.
