Help!! I'm not really sure I'm loving any of the menus at HS but do want to have dinner on the day we are planning on being in the park. We're on the DDP as well so I didn't include the Brown Derby as I don't want to use 2TS credits.

We have in the past eaten at both Primetime & Sci-Fi & felt both were OK but nothing to write home about. Should we just go back to one of those?

My gang, along with me, includes my DH & two DSs, 13 & 11.

Where should we eat? Why? What's really good there?

Thanks for the help!!

Hollywood and Vine is tha only restaurant we've visited that we won't return to. Maybe we just had a bad experience, but the food and service was bad.

Mama Melrose.

I was suprised at the negitive reveiws of this place, but we ate there a few weeks ago and it was amazing.

I second Mama Melroses, my mouth is watering just thinking of it!!!:thumbsup

HWBD is well worth the two credits. The atmosphere is so relaxing, you forget you are in a theme park. The service and food are as good as or better than any other restaraunt at WDW with the exception of Victoria and Alberts. TRY IT!

We had a later lunch at 50s PTC and it was great. The food was yunny and there certainly was enought of it!

We had very good experiences at Mama Melrose if you are looking to try something different.

I didn't vote, because we prefer HBD. We don't use DDP, but we think it's worth every cent OOP. That said, I would choose Mama Melrose from your list. Why? You already know you aren't crazy about 50's & Sci-fi. You might as well give MM a try.

I voted for 50's Prime Time. We love it there and it has always been a must on every trip. Great comfort food and a lot of fun. But we also really enjoy Mama Melrose. We've always had a very good meal there too.

We had eaten at 50's Prime Time once before and it was really good, huge proportions, but good. We are deciding not to do it this year because our goal for this trip is to try different places (with an exception of 2) and the other places in DHS just don't seem too appealing to us. Therefore, once we are done with everything at DHS, we are going to take a boat ride over to Boardwalk and eat at ESPN.

Anyone else have an opinion on this? For those of you who ate at Mama Melrose, how was the ambiance?

Thanks for everyone's insight!!

As much as we've historically enjoyed 50's - I love taking Disney first-timers there - Mama Melrose's is a better than decent place to eat. It's quiet, and I've never seen it crowded. It's got a worn, sorta ethnic, neighborhood vibe about it, and that appeals to me.

The flatbreads are really good. I've never had an outstanding entree, but I sure haven't had a bad experience, either.

I'm really not a fan of any of the food at DHS, including counter service. To be fair, I haven't eaten at Brown Derby or Sci-Fi but none of the food on their menus appealed to me. I'd much rather hit a nearby resort for a meal.

when it comes to dining.
You can always go to the Boardwalk or Boardwalk resort restaurants or even WS at Epcot. They are really not that far away.

Sci Fi for Lunch and Mama's for Dinner:thumbsup2 We do them every year and love, love, love them.

We haven't tried any of those places for dinner, but it seems that many of you here likes Mama Melrose. I'll better put it in our list and try in our next trip. Thanks a lot.

Have a nice day everyone. :)
