US or IOA for DS9 and DD6. My son likes rocknroller coaster, but doesn't love everest or tower of terror.

Daughter slightly adventurous, but doesn't care for real thrill rides.

I'm considering taking them for one day to one of the universal parks, but don't know enough about them to judge.

What do you think?

US has The Mummy if your son wants a roller coaster (and possibly Rip ride Rockit, depends on when you go). The closest thing to The Simpsons ride in Disney is Star Tours but the Simpsons is a lot wilder. You could compare Men In Black to Buzz Lightyear but that's only because they both are riding/shooting. ET, Jimmy Neutron, Shrek, Twister and Disaster should appeal to both kids. Jaws could be scary for the younger child but if you sit her in the middle of the boat she should be fine. By skipping IOA you are missing some great rides but for the sake of family harmony Universal Studios would be my choice.

Another vote (based on what you have said) for the one day at US.

Have a great time!

I'd pick US for just one day. But if you buy the 1 day, 2 park (or 7 day, 2 park) tickets you can do the highlights at both parks. They are not that much more expensive. You don't get reamed the way Disney does for park hoppers.
