Porter airlines?

I just got back from Orlando and flew Porter from Ottawa, it was very nice to fly direct. My flights were not full, I had no one beside me both ways and there were other empty seats. I like Terminal C but my gate was moved after I'd already found it and the walk from one end to the other is a bit long. My flight down was late leaving due to some weirdness in Ottawa, we couldn't board because of the way they use the gates there. But it was only 15 minutes late getting there even though we left almost an hour late. Coming home we arrived early and had to wait for the gate to be ready. I will fly Porter whenever I can.

That Miami flight would be good for cruising, they do already go to Fort Lauderdale which is close by and often recommended if you cruise from Miami. Having the option from Ottawa is nice. Though I have no travel plans now.

Thoughts or experiences with porter airlines? I have never flown with them but I have heard good things. I need to just book my return flight.

We did our flight we with them last trip and it was good. Direct from Halifax. The staff was mostly really good. One was cranky but we all can have bad days. I’m flying with them again!

I only have 4 passes. Since my two daughters have never been in an airport lounge before, my wife figured I could treat each daughter to the lounge once (only one daughter was travelling with us, and our 2nd daughter will be returning with us in August, at the end of her one year Epcot work term). We did smuggle some cookies and cake out of the lounge to give to my wife.

Now that you mention it, I don't recall seeing any carry-on luggage in the lounge, although I assume there must have been some, I didn't see any signs saying that luggage wasn't allowed.

Got an email from Porter this morning, you will be able to do US customs clearance at Billy Bishop starting tomorrow, so for those flying to the US from Toronto area, or connecting at that airport, that seems like a nice option.

Good to hear. It was not that long ago (September, 2025) that the American ambassador to Canada, Pete Hoekstra, said that the US may eliminate US customs clearance at Canadian airports if Canadian tourists continue to boycott the US. Well, the boycott continues, so the threat was apparently hot air.

Never had an issue. Flown Porter to NYC, Palm Springs and Orlando. Will be flying out to Orlando in April and on Porter again.
