My wife is going to Anaheim for work the week after our trip to Disney World. Which one of the two parks would be best for her to visit for one day? I know it is subjective, but just wondering what people think.

Now my first thought is to say Disneyland but has she been before? if so, then maybe DCA? What day of the week? Is park hopping totally out of the question? Does she like thrill rides, prefer nostalgia, have favorite characters, imbibe?

She has never been to either of the Disneyland parks. She is not into thrill rides, enjoys the Disney experience. She would be going on a Thursday. Park hopping is not out of the question, but she is working so not sure how long she would have in the park. The nice thing is the hotel she stays at is right there by the park.

If a park hopper ticket is within the budget (both for time and money), then I would go with that option. The parks are so close together (about a football field's length apart) that hopping is super easy. DL is Walt's park and his spirit is everywhere in all the charm and little details. But DCA is really fun, too, in a totally different way. And Cars Land is beautifully done, especially at night. If she can see the neon lighting at sunset on Rte. 66 -- that's a magical moment!

So as someone who goes to both parks, if she's been to WDW/Magic Kingdom then Disneyland will feel pretty similar There are some differences, but if she has never been to DCA my opinion is to definitely go there. Carsland is amazing, especially at night, and there are some unique rides at DCA not available at WDW worth checking out. On the other hand some of the original classics at Disneyland are worth checking out if that's more your thing.

If she's never been to a Disney park before, then I say it's a tossup.

For me....it would be DL. Not even close. It’s the original and most think superior to the MK.

Since she is coming from WDW and likely will have spent plenty of time in Magic Kingdom, I'd suggest DCA. A parkhopper is a better idea. There are times when I don't go on many rides and I like to walk back and forth looking at stuff. If she is going to be alone, she'll be able to get a lot more done.

I vote park hopper. It’s sweet to see the DLR castle and Main Street, but as a WDW vet we enjoyed the DCA experience astronomically. I’d make visiting attractions not at WDW my priority. And MaxPass is worth every cent.
