We will be staying in a villa for a week and we're going to one park on Tuesday and the other on Thursday and I want to make reservations for the Spiderman breakfast, so I have to decide soon. It's me, dh and almost 5 yr old ds who is fearless, it's our first time...(as if you couldn't tell from all the threads I have started, LOL)

I was wondering which park do you like to go to first and why. Thanks for any opinions.

hi Snoopymom,

Both parks are equal in fun and excitment so this was hard for me to deciffer...

but I have come to a conclusion lol...

day 1: go to US. There you will be able to just lightly stroll throught the themed sections of the park easily from one ride to another. US isn't a big coaster park but what it lacks in coasters, it makes up for in its rides. There is also Nickelodeon Studios, which isn't much of anything anymore :sad1: but it would still be cool for the 5yo to see Nickelodeon Studios upclose and personal.

day 2: go to IOA. In IOA it is dived up into 5 different lands. I would save IOA for day 2 because whenever we go there it feels as if its a bigger park, but its not overwhelming. The theming is wonderous and the food is delicious! I think it would be a spectacular grand exit to your Universal Studios adventures. Its a nice atmosphere for both adults and chlidren. The 5 yo will absolutely ADORE Suess Landing. There are many rides that he will feel MACHO riding. and plus, I'm sure he likes Spidey! :charac4:

hope this helps!

Thank you!!! That was more info than I expected, but exactly what I was looking for. I really appreciate it! Yes, ds loves Spidey, and he's already acting macho about riding the rides, LOL, he loves to look at the little clips on the website. I'm starting to get excited realizing what a blast we're going to have! Thanks a bunch!

I agree lauran cameron. We like to visit US on our arrival day 'cause it's easier to do after the hussle and bussle of the airports and we like saving the water rides for the next day! :umbrella:

On the day you visit IoA, go straight to the Spiderman ride. Get Expresspass tickets for later and then get in normal line for the ride. Afterwards go to Seussland or they are crowded, try Flying Unicorn in the next section.

For US, get a pass for Jimmy Neutron ride right away and then get in normal line. Afterwards go visit Woody's nutcoaster or MIB ride.

Getting express passes for later rides is important because it doesn't take long for line waits to get long on the popular rides. Just pay attention to the time on the pass so you can be there at the right time.

I agree. When are you going? Rumor has it that Nick Studios will be closing April 30.

No one knows for sure. It has been rumored to be turned into Universal offices but it could be a meet and greet area and a new ride later.

So you mean...get there early, get an express pass, ride it, and come back and ride it again at the express pass time so that you get to ride them twice? Great idea!!!

How many express passes are you allowed to have at one time?.. (like I think you're only allowed to have 2 at Disney)

We will be there in June, so I guess we'll miss Nick Studios, oh well, at least we won't know what we're missing.

Thanks everyone!!!!

Yes, if you get to the park early there will usually be hardly any wait and you'll have the express pass for later to ride again when it is more crowded. Rides like Shrek, Jimmy Neutron, MIB, Spiderman, Hulk (basically all the popular ones) will have a long wait time once the crowds show up. Suessland also gets crowded later since everyone with small children will be going there. If you get there when the park opens, you can sometimes go twice before the waits get long and then use the pass later.

You can only have one pass per person at a time. One trick is if you have someone in your group not doing rides, you can still use thier ticket to get an express pass for someone else to use. By afternoon, express passes may be gone for most rides since they only have a certain quantity available.
