Which park do you choose to do first?

When you will be there for a few days, how do you choose which park to go to first? We are a party of six, 3 adults, 3 kids (the youngest is 10, the oldest is 15) and we will ride everything---yes, even the 10 year old, she is a brave one! :)

We usually do Universal first, just because it LOOKS less impressive from the outside than Islands, mostly because all the rides are indoors. I think there's more to do at US than IOA though.

Funny, I've never thought about it before but we always do the Studios first also. Though come June we'll have the teenage sons with us and will let them choose so I won't be surprised if they pick IOA first.

It doesn't matter which park you do first-- they are both EXTREMELY FUN!:dance3:

daddy's girl::yes::

Here is our plan (and our logic behind it)

We will be spending the first 2 days of our vacation at US/IOA and will have FOTL access by staying at the HRH.

Day 1 - US in the morning and ride as much as we can until about 1pm. Then we are going to head over to IOA for lunch at Mythos and then ride Spiderman and then the water rides. This way when we won't have to walk around the park trying to ride other rides saoking wet. We can head back and get changed and go back to US if we want or just go to dinner and come back and enjoy the pool.

Day 2 - If we want to ride any of the water rides again, we will go to IOA first so theat we can go back and change before checkout. The rest of the day will be US.

The water rides at IOA are really the deciding factor for us. I hate to walk around in wet clothes. Plus I don't like getting on to other rides soaking wet and leaving the seat wet for the next person.

We went to US 3 times for 4-6 hours each (twice in the morning and once in the evening). We went to IOA 5 times for 4-6 hours each, mainly in the mornings but once in the afternoon. We prefer to arrive at opening, ride until lunch, see shows or return to the hotel in the afternoon. We still did not see everything but we did ride our favourites many times!

In October, we'll probably do US first because my sister and her husband haven't been on The Simpsons and we like checking out the new rides first. The Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket should be open too. That way, if we determine that we like the new ride(s), we can redo them later during our trip.

That's a good plan especially with the water rides.

I do IOA first because most of its attractions are rides, which tend to have longer waits than shows.

I always do IOA first just because I have been to the parks and know what to do and what to skip so I can be done with IOA in a cpl hours. Since your riding everything imo do Universal first and then do IOA.

Thanks guys, I think I'm going to do US first, I reached this decision because I'm dying to ride the Mummy (dying to ride the Mummy--that strikes me as funny for some reason! :rotfl2:), and I definitely want to do the queue line the first time I ride it.

Got some great ideas about the water rides from you guys too, we will do some rides at IOA one morning, eat lunch, then hit the water rides (express entry baby!), then go back to our room to change clothes and probably chill out for the rest of the evening.

Sounds like a plan to me!!!! :thumbsup2 :)

We would always do IOA first, mainly because we walk from RPR , and its just across the bridge when you get to Citywalk.

You would probably be dried off before you reach the resort:laundy:

if i am the mood for coasters, i go to ioa first around 8:20.
if let in prior to the official opening time, i can pick the front row seat on the hulk and dueling dragons easily.

more of the rides i love are open early at ioa than at the studio side.

also, if i feel like getting wet, i do the water rides early, stop around noon, go back to the hotel to change.

then return to enjoy the parks in dry clothes.

my last day at the park is always spent at the studio side in the morning.

i love that park!!

IOA first. I need my spidey fix. Then, Cat in the Hat. After that, I'm open for anything.

We stay on-site,so its alittle hard to give a unbiased answer.
I will tell you what we like tho.
Studios 1'st,cause most of the time I am a ride chicken. But the Studios gives me a fix to last me the rest of the day. Then its DW turn,IOA.Coasters are her bag.I do like Spidy,Popeye,Dudley and the shows. But the first 1/2 of the day is mine the second hers!!
