It's been my personal experience IRL that the folks with a substantial amount of money are less elitist than those with less.

DH and I believe that the ones with less have a "something to prove" attitude, while the ones with more are comfortable with who they are and therefore have less to "prove".

Just a serious personal observation.

Are you guys serious? You actually care how many homes McCain owns? This didn't seem to be a problem when Sen. Kerry ran for president, and he owns more than one home, so why is this a problem now?

ETA: And as for the elitist thing? I've met some liberals that have looked down in a big way...is that elitist? I think it is.
