Which one for date night?

We'll have one night for just the 2 of us. We never go on a nice date night so I'm excited and want my DH to have a really nice dinner. I'm thinking either The Boathouse, so we can hang out at Disney Springs afterward, Narcoossee's or Cali Grill so we can go to MK or Epcot. We'll be using the DP and I know some are 2 credits but we'll save the credit's for it.

My DH is a steak and potato kind of guy and I love seafood and pasta. He hates dressing up so he won't want anything to fancy.

At first I was looking at The Yachtsman or Jinko but I don't want to waste precious time travelling to the hotels and then to a park or DS.

So what do you guys think? Any other suggestions? Any food pics?

I would vote for Yachtsman. It's just as close to Epcot as CG is to MK. I think CG is a slightly better restaurant, but if DH is looking for steak, Yachtsman is the place. IIRC DW had crabcakes when we went and they were spectacular as well. And the beet salad was incredible (and I don't normally say such things.) IMHO it's better than Le Cellier.

Wow, you guys have amazing recommendations! I sat my husband down with the intention of showing him all the menus. Well, the first one I showed him was The Yachtsman and he saw the Porterhouse for 2 and said that was the one!
We'll be on the DDP, so can we order this with and share? I'm assuming it'll be 4 credits if they let us.
I don't eat red meat so I think I'll order the mac and cheese for myself and pay out of pocket.
I'm not sure this is a good use of credits though
Have any of you tried the Porterhouse?

We only visit five TS eateries at WDW when we go there for an actual meal.
.
1) We prefer
. . . fine food
. . . excellent, top notch service
. . . innovative dishes with flair and quality
. . . overall great value
. . . relaxed and soothing dining atmosphere
. . . behaved and somewhat quiet patrons
.
2) The only sit-down restaurants we routinely visit,
. . . Sanaa - Animal Kingdom Villas Resort (one of my personal favs)
. . . Artist Point - Wilderness Lodge Resort
. . . Citricos - Grand Floridian Resort
. . . Shula's Steakhouse - Dolphin Resort (no DDP)
. . . Il Mulino - Swan Resort (no DDP)
.
3) Our (nearby) off-site Recommendations:
. . . Bull & Bear - Waldorf Astoria Bonnet Creek - Fine Dining
. . . Café D'Antonio - Celebration - Casual Italian
. . . Columbia - Celebration - Casual Spanish/Cuban
. . . Fish Bones - Hwy192 - Seafood
. . . Venetian Room - Caribe Royale Hotel - Fine Dining
. . . The Hotel Tea Room - Davenport, FL - Casual - Friday Steak-Fry, Afternoon Tea
.
NOTE1: The only time we visit other TS eateries is to renew our ratings for the eatery(ies).
And, when we do these, we have "sampler" dishes (whether free or paid) so we can try
several appys/entrées without pigging-out or having major weight gains.
.
NOTE2: Now, for a real treat, go to The Hotel and Tea Room in Davenport, Florida on
a Friday evening. It is run by a real, true Little Old Lady (Miss Mae), who refuses to
charge big bucks! They have a Friday-night rib-eye steak dinner that tops Ruth's Chris'
or Shula's. The steak covers the entire plate. They get primals and do their own cutting
of the steak. It is an OLD hotel with a small dining room. Has an award winning Pastry
Chef from TV and has Best-In-Show awards for pies, pastries, and cakes !!!

I would go with Narcoossee's of the choices you gave, especially for a date night. Cali Grill is nice, and its all about the view from up high. Narcoossee's sits right over Seven Seas Lagoon and has a great view of the Magic Kingdom. I would also look at Citricos in the Grand Floridian. My meal there was the best I've had on property other than V&A.
