Which one 50's or Sci Fi

We will be doing DHS on the 27th Aug I have a 2.30pm 50's res for 2.30pm and just got a 4pm at Sci Fi now the dilemma of what to cancel.We are on the DDP and will have our Grandchildren with us 10 & 6.Any help would be appreciated.Leave to-morrow for the long drive from Toronto so excited.

Sci-Fi is one of our must-do experiences on every trip. My boys are almost 7 and almost 5 and they always ask if I made reservations for Sci-Fi. They love eating in the cars and watching the hokey movies. The food has always been really good for us but we stick to the basics.....love love love the burgers, onion rings, and shakes. My DH loves that he can get a cherry coke for his n/a bev and the shake as his dessert! (He's just a really big kid! OK, me too.) Plus, the dim lighting and cool a/c make it an awesome break from the heat. We usually do lunch there on our DHS day and it really recharges us to finish it out.

We used to really like 50s but haven't been in a couple of years. The last two times we went, there was absolutely no schtick to it at all. No elbows off the table, no clean your plate, nothing. It used to be sooooo much better. The food is still good, but nothing we rush over for without the "entertainment." Plus, last time the service was dreadfully bad (no schtick AND no service) and we pretty much decided that since we all enjoy Sci-Fi, that's our place.

I'd give Sci-Fi a try, given your grandchildren's ages. I would bet they enjoy it! Hope you enjoy your trip.....we'll be at WDW at the same time, but we'll be at DHS a day behind you!

We haven't been to Sci-Fi, so i cannot comment there. We have been to 50's. Being an older couple, we haven't ever been "given the treatment", or we've never got the "right" server. We do enjoy the food there. The kids may not understand the nostalgia of the 50's though. There is a much more varied menu at 50's over Sci-Fi.

We did not like 50's PT. Sci-Fi is the only DHS TS restaurant that we would return to. My vote would be Sci-Fi!

Oh see, my kids love the PTC. The first time we went there, they were 9 and 12 and we've gone every time since then. We usually get the full treatment but we do encourage it. The food is pretty basic but good. We're doing the Sci-Fi but for lunch too, But, if I had to choose, it would be the PTC.

For kids that age SciFi is perfect. My son loves that place. Burgers and shakes are great. 50s is good too but some kids dont particularly find scolding amusing. lol. my vote is for scifi. Posted from DISboards.com App for Android

Kids that age will have a blast at Sci-Fi. I say keep that and cancel 50's. He adults will like it too!

We are fans of PTC. We have gone probably 8 times over the last 12 years and only had one "dud" server. The rest have all been a blast. We were there just last week and had one of the most fun servers yet. We always consider SciFi but find ourselves back at PTC.

Our family has eaten at both and we all agree that we like Sic Fi best. We make it a must each trip, and have been known to eat here twice during one trip. Our kids are grown now but even when they were little they loved all the funny movie clips at Sci Fi.

I agree that kids that age would probably prefer the ambiance of Sci-Fi. They might prefer the '50s PT when they are a bit older and can better appreciate the banter with the waiter.

SciFi is our choice as well.....we try to make a reservation for it every year. The one year we skipped it the kids really missed it. I like their Reuben and their cheesecake.....everyone always finds something good to eat and they like the atmosphere. We've always had great service here too.

For a couple in their late 20's with no kids, what does everyone suggest? We have our ADR at 50's but I think Sci Fi sounds fun.

Man, what a tough question! To me, I would take the PTC over SFT. I think the food is better, and moreover it is different than you will get at most Disney restaurants. SFT will have basically the typical burger menu, and in my mind has very few distinctive and unique menu offerings.

On the other hand, the kids will probably enjoy the atmosphere of the SFT more, while many Seasoned-Citizens will enjoy the throwback in history offered by the PTC.

Yes, PTC would be my choice but either way you will enjoy; it's a win-win! Have fun!

With the age of the kids sci fi.

Not on dining plan but the light up kids drinks are a great buy at sci fi as it is dark - think they are $6 ish but my DD still uses hers at home.
