My DH is a picky eater (think hamburger & fries). We are going to be touring the monorail resorts one night and need a CS at one of these resorts. Which of the following is best and why? Thanks!

Contemporary: Food & Fun Center
Grand Floridian: Gasparilla Grill
Poly: Captain Cook's

The Food & Fun Center is now closed and the new counter service location at the Contemporary won't be opening until August 2008. Also the temporary counter service location does not sell any burgers and fries. They do have another location called the Sand Bar which is located by the pool and they do have burgers, however they close around 7:00 PM or 8:00 PM and the only tables there are outside. Their menu is also more limited then what the Food & Fun Center had.

Besides that my parents and I have not yet been to Captin Cook's, however we always go to Gasparilla's Grill & Games and we think it's an excellent counter service location.

i liked captain cook's at the poly. we were staying there so we used it a bunch of times. the salad was great, and they have a great turkey sandwich too. not sure about burgers, but i'm sure they must have those too. they also had pizza. we really enjoyed it.

Thanks for the info! I took the info off the Restaurant Board thread that lists the Disney menus. I had no idea that the one at the Contemporary was closed! I'll have DH look over the other menus online and let him pick which one he would prefer. Thanks again for the replies.

You're welcome. :thumbsup2

Another vote for Captain Cooks! I thought the food was good, the staff was friendly, and the service was fast. I also liked the touch-screen computer setup. :)

Captain Cook's is real good. We stayed at CR in February and the only CS at any of the resorts we ate at was Captain Cook's. The grownup grilled cheese sandwich is huge and yummy and so are the flatbreads...!!! :)

We ate at Gasparilla's this past Saturday and were pretty shocked how limited the menu was ... it was all the same items as the All Stars Movies food court. Hoped better for Disney's flagship resort. ETA: sounds like your DH would actually like it then.

Ate at Capt. Cooks several times - gets my vote, for sure. The food is much more creative and interesting.

Definitely Capt Cooks. Best CS on the monorail loop IMHO.

Sandwiches were fresh. Flatbreads were very good also.

Burgers are consistent w/burgers at other WDW locations (fair disclosure, I am not a fan of WDW burgers w/exception of Beaches & Cream burger-mmmm).

None of the other monorail CS did much for me.

Regards,
