Which MVMCP will be less corwded? Dec 17 or Dec 19

From what I have heard the Dec 17 would be less crowded. I heard that Friday nights sell out before any other party.

I heard this after I purchased my Dec 19th tickets....:(

Anyway, We are going to have a blast. :santa:

Confused...Dec 17th is a Friday. If they sell out first, why would it be less crowded?

So how crowded is it if it is a sellout? how will it compare to the few days before christmas. Last year I think there were unexpectedly high crowds by Dec 19th or 20th and we almost got crushed at wishes. will going to the party help us avoid that?

OMG... I saw days not looking at the months and thought I was going in December, but I am going in November on the 19th, which is Friday. :confused3

How are crowds when it's sold out?:crowded::crowded::crowded: :crowded::crowded::crowded:
I'll never EVER go when it's sold out again. If I ever attend a MVCP again, I'll wait until that day to buy tickets to at least have a sporting chance at it not selling out. It was NOT fun. We left along w/ others around 10pm. they couldn't believe how wall to wall it was, particularly on main street. The line was out the front of the attraction for Space Mountain. No thanks!

I agree w/ others, both will probably sell out. Friday will for CERTAIN, but my crystal ball is on the fritz so I can't get an accurate read on Sunday. :)

When it's not sold out and not crowded, it's a DREAM! I've done 2 of those. Crowded and sold out killed it for me. :(

After reading several posts on the crowds on MVMCP, I am really considering not going. We will have fairly low to moderate crowds after Thanksgiving, so touring MK will be easy, and we will probably watch Holiday Wishes from the Poly beach after dinner at O'hana's. So the only thing I feel we are missing is the parade and cookies and Belle in her Christmas outfit. But those are not worth paying an extra $300, IMO.

To the OP, I hope you have a wonderful time, I've heard that the later you stay, the crowds thin out after the fireworks.

We went last year the first week of December on a week day and it was so crowded you could hardly move.

it was not worth the cost.

Disney used to describe/sell the party and experience as "intimate" (don't know if they still do). Who knew it was THAT meaning of intimate! :rotfl: :lmao:

LAST year ALL the last weeks worth of parties SOLD OUT.That included the last 2 .It didn't matter what day of the week it was .Sold out=crowds. You have to remember that yes they sell less tickets than a regular park day.But MOST people are there for the same few things...The parade and fireworks being the most popular. So it will be busy, it will be crowded.Make a plan and go with it and have a good time:goodvibes

Your best bet on a crowded night is to head to the back of the park first. People with kids tend to line up for the first parade. The rest of the park isn't bad then. Once that parade is over, the entire park gets crowded. If you already hit the major attractions, you will be in good shape.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Friday is FAR more likely to sell out. Sunday night you get fewer locals. And consider that for people arriving over the weekend, the parade fireworks and stage show will be available for free starting Monday the 20th.

That said, the others are also right. ANY night that last week can sell out.

Do me a favor though... you guys all stay home on the 14th and 16th, OK???? :rotfl2: (since that's when we're going.....)

I would rather go on the Friday. My reasons are this (although I know TP shows differently).

Many locals can have gone earlier in the season to the event. the 17th is still considered low season for rates, while the 19th is in the holiday season. there are more out of towners coming in and trying to get that Sunday.

While Both will be crowded, there is a greater chance that locals are still in school (even if the last day or halfday) so it shouldn't be that much of a big deal.

if it was me, i'd do Friday. I also agree to go to the back first and then as the night wears on, you move forward, where everyone else is doing the opposite

:thumbsup2 We'll be there on the 16th with you along with DISers from the Podcast Cruise. Get ready!

Since December 19th is the last MVMCP of the year, I would expect it to be sold out. :confused3 (No crystal ball, just a guess. ;) ) If I had a choice, I would go the previous week. JMO :thumbsup2 Yes, you can experience the parade and fireworks for FREE the following week. But, most school children are on winter break starting December 20th. So, locals and vacationers alike will be at WDW the week of December 20th. :crowded:

Have a magical trip! :wizard:

We went to the last party in 2008. Honestly, it was miserable. Worst part of our trip. Long lines for everything. I would not do a sold out party of any kind again. The parade was great but if there is any way to go to an earlier party or see the parade after the parties end it would be better.
