My first choice would be the CR. The new rooms look like they are going to be gorgeous, but I was ok with the old rooms. They wouldn't be my first pick in decor, but they weren't as bad as I thought they would be. The major pros:
1. You can walk to MK, and it's an easy, short walk. At the end of the night, we walked right past the long lines for the monorail and buses and headed back to our room.
2. The TTC is only one stop away. This makes getting to Epcot a little quicker.
3. You are first on/first off the bus to MGM. That is the only bus we took, so I don't know about AK.
4. If you walk over to MK, you can catch a bus to any non-monorail resort easily. From the MK, you also have boat access to GF, Poly, WL.
5. There is a boat launch from the CR to FW/WL.
6. The tower view of the castle is so close!
My second choice would be the Polynesian. From there you can walk to the TTC for more transportation choices (and to get directly on the Epcot monorail without having to transfer). The grounds are absolutely beautiful!
I have no real desire to stay at GF, so I don't know much about it. It's funny, because when we went to WDW on our honeymoon in May 1988, they were building the GF. I kept bugging dh about going back and staying there. Now it isn't anywhere near the top of my list. I don't know why, though, so I'm certainly not saying that it's a bad choice.
