Which Moderate?

We're in the Ferry :wave2:

That's interesting re Universal. I'm sure the kids would have a great time in the parks regardless of whether they ride anything or not.

I'm undecided about whether to go the 2 weeks the schools are off or take them out a week before. It probably doesn't matter too much in terms of crowds.

The Unofficial Guide is on my wish list, I've been trying to decide whether to order a hard copy or download it, I've read its quite a size! (Jeez, I must sound like the most indecisive person ever, I'm not usually, honest, just a lot going on just now that I'm not taking the time to decide these little things, must slow down!).

I'm often down in the Ferry getting cake supplies lol!

We always take the kids out of school for the last week in September and stay for 3 weeks. We always stay at Universal for the first 3/4 nights and do all the other non Disney things like SeaWorld, Celebration, Universal, Clearwater Beach etc but we always hire a car because if you plan to go to a park on one day and then it chucks it down you need to rearrange everything so it gives you much more freedom of movement and you can go further afield, like Kennedy Space Centre, the beach, LEGOLAND etc to make the most of your trip.

I want to stay at PO but can never remember which one it is, one of the main pools I didn't like the look of but walking around I liked all the balconies and the grand staircases and even though we were last staying at OKW we kept going to Riverside Mill for dinner lol!

As Tony says, the Brits Guide is also good, I tend to buy both and yes the Unofficial Guide is a bit mahoosive lol! :)

Choosing a resort can be a personal thing, what suits one will not necessarily suit another

So true! ;)

Out of the two moderates we have stayed at Coronado Springs gets my vote over POR. Before we stayed I worried that 17 days in one place might be too much, especially as we had not been to CSR before - I was so worried beforehand as we were travelling with friends and family (their 1st visit!) thankfully everyone loved it, and we spent more time relaxing at the hotel than we have done in our previous trips :)

POR has a much more laid back feel to it - too much for us, we felt it would suit us more in about 15 or so years time when we aren't so full on (just my opinion - I don't mean to sound ageist!!) the kids all wanted to go back to the Pop (we did a split stay) as they missed the colourful Disney theming.

As you say though, it's each to their own - maybe a split stay if you can't decide?! ;)
