We've stayed at ASM once and BC 3 times. This time we're going to try a mod. Which would you pick and why?

do you like everything in one building - or spread out?

spread out - then POR

there is no moderate in one building - POFQ is the closest you will get.

I really wanna try Coronado Springs... but we stayed in Port Orleans French Quarter in 2011 and it was simply amazing:

Nice theming and landscape. Small resort (no long walks to the room!). Great pool. Great hot tub. Very romantic. Stayed in PR and AKL and besides the TS restaurants in the deluxe resorts, I can't say I've seen a big difference between POFQ and the deluxe we've tried.

We have always stayed at CB and loved it. This time we are staying at POR and can't wait. Is there a particular theme you like more than others? We are excited about the boat ride from POR to DTD - that will be new and something fun for us to do.

I would normally tell you to stay at my beloved POR.....but since I've been calling EVERY day to change my reservation to it for over a month with no luck.....I will say...

If you are going in October..specifically Halloween time....POFQ. If you are going any other time of the year...hands down POR. :D

We have stayed in all of them and I say CSR, without a doubt. No hesitation whatsoever. good luck

We love POFQ. The small feel of the resort. it was great being so close to everything yet still quaint and quiet. The boat to dtd was a plus and the bus service was always fast and easy. We always had stayed in the value and that was our first moderate and we fell in love.

I am a big BC fan, and I stayed at POFQ for the first time this year and loved it! I'm going back there for my next trip. As PPs have said, POFQ is pretty, quaint, charming, compact and easy to get around. I had good luck with the bus service, and it's really not too long a trip to anywhere. Be advised that POFQ does not have a TS restaurant (although there is one up the river at POR), just a food court, but the food court had plenty of choices for breakfast, which was the only meal I ate at the resort, anyway.

Another vote for POFQ. We just had our first stay there and loved it. In addition to all the reasons listed above, the rooms are very, very nice. The biggest plus tho, is the bus service. Empty buses arrived and took us directly to the parks quickly, every time but once. On that one time, we were given the Grand Tour of all 4 bus stops at POR, till the bus was standing room only. Then we stopped at Blizzard Beach. That bus ride felt like it took hours compared to what we had gotten used to there. I like POR's theme, but would never stay there unless we had a car.

Our favorite mod is CSR.

Who's traveling with you?
Little boys might like the Pirate themed rooms at CBR while little girls would probably enjoy the Princess rooms.
Older kids through teens- at least those we've traveled with- really like CSR.
CSR has a nice lounge that might appeal to adult travelers.
Couples on a romantic trip might find POFQ or CSR appealing.

We have stayed at CBC, nice resort, but the largest of the moderates and very spread out. that being said, the only complaint was that we needed to take our car or bus if we wanted to use the dining or the main pool. rooms were nice and the property was beautiful. Buses....hit and miss, many stops and at times standing room only. Kids picked POP this last trip and we will be going back to moderates for our next trip (Dec '14). We went and looked at the resorts over the last trip to see the xmas décor and we love POFQ, we usually don't do a sit down meal at the resort, so we are really leaning at booking POFQ for this next trip. love the boat ride to DTD, the bikes, fishing, boats...the amenities are what you would see at the Deluxe.

I've stayed at all multiple times. It really comes down to theming IMHO. I love POFQ for size, food court and water taxi to DD, CSR for a nice Mexican theme and food court is different than other mods, CBR when I'm in the mood for the tropics and POR for a laid back feel but want things a little spread out. You really can't go wrong with any of them. Enjoy.

I, myself, amd partial to POR and can't get myself to consider another resort. Although I stayed at POFQ in 2008 and liked that very much too.
I think the best advice for you is to just look at pictures of all of them and pick the one that appeals to you most! :goodvibes

We are a mission to stay at all the Mods and Deluxes so next year is the CSR. It just look like a great place to hang out as a couple! This year we were at the POFQ. Loved it with the kids! Small so never a big walk to anywhere! Pool and hot tub are nice. Loved the boat ride to DTD with the DH. I think you will love either! 2015 is CBR!

We have stayed at both POR and CBR, but not CSR. Of the three we stayed at our clear favorite is POFQ. The grounds are nice, everything is close together so not a lot of walking. Boat to DTD is a plus (at POR as well). We just got back from POR and we all agreed that we missed POFQ. The food court is our favorite one of any resort we have stayed at or seen.

We have always done Mod.'s and hope to do a deluxe at some point, but for the $$ POFQ is what we consider our "home" resort.

We will have 2 adults, DD-14 & DD-11. We're coming from Michigan so we want to see lots of palm trees and a nice pool area. I know it won't compare to the BC pool, but we would like something nice since we plan to spend a couple days at the pool. Thanks!

Out of the moderates, we've only stayed at CBR and we loved it. We thought the grounds were beautiful, the pool was fun, the food court was good, and the bus transportation was great. CBR is spread out, but we didn't mind it. With that said, if we tried another mod, POR would be at the top of our list to try. The resort looks beautiful and we don't mind that it's big like CBR. Good luck deciding, although I'm sure you'll have a great trip no matter which resort you choose :wizard:.

We've only stayed at the CSR and have stayed there ten times. If we could not stay there and we still stayed at moderates, POR-Riverside would be our only other choice. We've visited them all numerous times and POR-Riverside is the only one besides CSR that holds any interest for us.

Now to be totally honest, I was at the Beach Club in June and I was not wowed by it. A lot of that could have been the rain and the puddles everywhere, the horrible bus service and the not so helpful CM's. I think you would find CBR to be closest to Beach Club pool wish with the pirate themed area but your kids might be a little too old for that. CSR has the longest slide of all the moderates.
