we are looking to go to wdw in the first week of june 2004, but cannot decide which resort to stay at. we done asm and asmu so would like to step up this time to a moderate, please help! we cant make our minds up, many thanks

Hi,
Well I have stayed at CSR, and POR.
I have to say between thoses I would go for CSR only if there are only adults going.
It is a beautiful resort, but it is not as Disney as the other. (IMO)The pool is really nice and it seemed quiter then the other.
Now if you have children I think POR would be better. The pools there are more kid friendly. POR would also be better if you have 5 people going because they are the only mod. resort that allows 5. They have a roll-away bed in the rooms.
Personaly we will be going to the CBR this summer. We have never stayed there , but I have heard alot of good things about this resort. there are going to be 6 of us so no matter where we go, we have to get two rooms. Except for the HAHs or the FWcabins. They are not cost effective for us though.
It just depends on ahow many are going to go with you and what kind of themeing you like CBR is tropical, POR is old south, CSR is southwest.
I think they are all really nice. I havent stayed at a wdw resort that I didnt like for one reason or another.

moderate is Coronado Springs. But, you should pick based on the theme you would prefer. I think you'll be happy if you go that route.

Coronado has a great pool and it's a lovely resort with a great full-service restaurant, Maya Grille.

Have fun whatever you choose.

My 10 yr old DD loves the Dig Site. An awesome pool with a great water slide. The Dis Site has an arcade, hair wrap station, playground area and bar/food bar.

Hands down, my absolute favorite is Port Orleans French Quarter. The resort is beautiful, yet small. No matter what room you are in, you are at the main building, pool, foodcourt, buses, etc. within minutes. The pool is fun and there is a hot tub tucked away behind the pool bar. It's a quiet resort and my favorite.

:D

I've stayed at both the CSR and the CBR. Because of the pool at the CSR, that would be my first choice of the two. However, your taste may be different from mine and you should simply pick the resort that has the most appeal to you.

I agree with the previous posters. Choose the feel or atmosphere of the resort that best appeals to you and your family. For me, I don't think I could do the CSR because being allergic to peppers. The food court is named after the horrible little things. Might sound silly to some; but for me it would be a major concern to get a small piece of a bell pepper in my food by accident. So, I choose not to stay there. We tend to eat at the food courts for most breakfasts and an occasional other meals.

We have only stayed at the CBR. We returned a few days ago from our 13 night stay there. For us, we enjoy the tropical setting. However, we look forward to try many different resorts in the future including POR & POFQ after there remodels.

You can't go wrong no matter what you decide be it a value to a deluxe resort. Each are wonderful and special in their own ways. Have fun deciding. Keep in mind you will hear both good and bad about all the resorts. So keep an open mind when choosing! Good Luck & Have a Lot of Fun, too!

We love PO's French Quarter. Small, easy to navigate (important for a visually impaired MIL), kids (3 boys 12 and under) love the slide at the pool and the food court's great. We've always done multi-generational trips and this resort suited everyone from 2-70. One of my favorite things is that either DH or I can go get breakfast from the food court and bring it back while everyone else is getting dressed - and it's still hot when we get back!

CSR was nice - very well themed - but we won't stay there again. No matter where your room is you're far away from something you'd like easier access to. We were a 20 second walk to the main pool, equidistant to our bus stop. But it seemed to take forever to walk over to the restaurants in the main building. With 6 hungry people in the mornings, this was not a lot of fun. By the time we got to the food court the youngest kids had gone from just hungry to ravenous and whiny.

Other family members (again multi-generational) have stayed at CBR - they didn't care for it. Have never really specified why, but they won't even consider it for future visits.

We're considering one of the PO resorts for our next trip.

Hope that helps!
