Which Moderate Resort??

Plus the mandatory "resort" fee. Plus the charge for parking.

I don'use a car while I am at Disney so that isnt an issue with me. I have done the calculations after every trip. Adding in the airport transportation and resort fee. I still save about $1,000 for a week stay vs another Disney Deluxe. But I guess this post was for a moderate. I guess my overall point is you are getting nicer hotel than a moderate I guess everyone has to just do the math for themselves and decide if its worth it.

Thanks for all the feedback! I think we probably lean toward CBR. The main reason we haven't looked at CSR is that it is a little more money. Staying at a moderate is already stretching the adventure budget because my FIL wants to pay for the whole trip. For 1 room it isn't that much but when you make it 3 it adds up a little more. My feeling is they are all at Disney and my family has only camped or one time we stayed at a Value resort to get the free dining so a moderate will be fabulous for us regardless:lmao:! I will hopefully be planning this trip soon! :)

I've stayed at all 4 Moderates, and CBR is by far my least favorite. It is just way too big. The fact that it is the only Moderate that has a bus dedicated to dropping guests off at different stops around the resort should tell you something about how huge it is.

I would differ with you, when we stayed at POR it had 4 different bus stops around the resort also, and it also stopped at pofq and POR some times.

My choose would be POR, you can do rustic for some in AB and elegant for others in royal theme rooms in the mansions.

Just a thought since so many are going, is anyone military and qualify for SoG, if not retired you if ever served you still have two months a year that you can stay, sept and jan. the price can not be beat, and the rooms are huge, the food has a lot of improvements to go, but no worse than some Disney food, actually when we figure no taxes, no forced gratitude and quality we think even if not great it beats out Disney. If one person qualifies, you can have them sponsor up to 3 rooms. Most persons do not realize that those months are open to anyone who has ever served.

On what exactly do you differ?:confused3 Your post doesn't explain.

POR is large too, but only has 4 stops compared to the 7 at CBR. And usually if they do share with POFQ, POFQ is picked up first, so that stop has no affect on POR. Other than a few more people on the bus.

That it is the ONLY moderate resort that has a bus that stops different places around the resort to tell you how big it is. POR has a bus that stops at 4 different places to pick up and drop of guest, I thought I did explain that in my post, it you are out in the last mansion you are very far away, many people even say that it is a shorter walk to pofq to catch the bus, it is huge, I don't know if bigger than CBS or CSR since I never stayed ther but it is not the only moserate resort that has more than one bus stop because I have stayed at POR and they stopped sometimes at pofq and then at all four stops at POR, but that was not all the time, most of the times it just stopped at all four of the POR bus stops and skipped pofq.

Oh you misunderstood my post.:headache: CBR is the only moderate that has a bus that only runs around the resort. It doesn't go to the parks, it just runs around the resort dropping people off. The bus has Internal Shuttle on the marquis. It is the same size as a park bus, but it is not a park bus.

The only moderate with one bus stop is POFQ. And they do indeed sometimes share a bus with POR.

Thanks, I did misunderstand, sorry, never been so I thought you were talking the Disney bus!

I just booked CSR business room after much debate and reading posts. I was originally was looking at CBR. I quickly changed my mind. This will be our first stay on property. I've been doing orlando for many years and always stayed off. I can't wait to arive in 30 days. The pool and grounds look great. Thanks for all the help disboards.

We just booked CSR for the first time. I've stayed at CBR, POR too. Not a big fan of CBR. Way too big. POR was nice and I would stay there again, but we like to try different resorts. I've heard good things about CSR so I'm taking a leap of faith. I was originally booked at wilderness lodge but another family is joining us and could only do moderate. We can't wait!

I haven't stayed at CSR yet(will next month)...but from what I'm seeing, it has the most deluxe feel to it of all the moderates. It has the longest pool slide of all the mods., health club, salon/spa. Some of those might appeal to the folks that like deluxe stays. It is a little more $, but just a few dollars a day.
Of the other moderates, I would go with POR for your family. You can use the pool at POR or POFQ, but the pool at POR is nicer. The slide at french quarter is really for LITTLE kids. The boat to DTD would be fun. There's a playground by the pool for the kids. The food court is better there than CBR and the rooms were just refurbished last year, so everything is NEW!

We stayed at CBR in 2011, and it was looking a bit tired then. I would think they would be refurbishing it sometime soon.

I personally didn't like POFQ. We LOVED POR thou! Loved it a lot. CSR is very nice too. But we still like POR better.
