Which moderate resort should I choose?

Planning a spur of the momemt 4 day 3 night trip in mid Dec. Trying to decide which moderate resort My wife and I should stay at. I have stayed at CS before on my honeymoon. Please give me some advice!

I have not stayed at any of the moderates, but my DH and I have toured them all. We decided that if we were staying mod with just the two of us we would pick POFQ. It seemed the quietest and the most romantic, plus it is smaller than the other mods. I believe it was fairly recently renovated also. The only downside is I don't think they have a table service restaurant.

I love POFQ- everything is a short walk, unlike other mods. Its my favorite

CBR and CS are your only other choices.

POR was our choice for our anniversary. We found that when we walked over to the FQ there were a lot of little kids, the food court was really loud and crowded, and so was the pool area. POR has the main pool, and so many quiet pools you are bound to find some quiet lounging/swimming time. The sit-down restaurant is nice at POR too. Food court was not crowded or as loud. The mansion area is beautiful. We had a great corner room with a garden view. Since you are going in mid Dec. you should be fine with either FQ or Riverside. They are both great.

Our favorite is POFQ. It is much smaller and the lighting at night with the cobblestone streets really sheds that "romantic" feeling on you as you walk around the resort. Plus, only one bus stop --first on and first off -- especially nice when the bus is shared with POR. We liked the smaller food court, for us it has never been as crowded as the POR. And, when we wanted we could walk over to POR and use any of their quiet pools. Ride to downtown Disney is very nice. Much of it will depend on what you are looking for in your resort. The theme here really appeals to us.

I'd go for POFQ. Really nice atmosphere, quite and small. It's a short walk to the lobby, food court and bus stop. It also has the boat to DTD.

tough choice they're all pretty nice. These are MY takes on the different moderates:
CS is large and imho has a convention feel to it.
Cb resort is airy, has the largest rooms of the moderates but is very spread out
POFQ is quaint and cozy but i find the "mask" alittle creepy (i'm not big on clown type stuff and they remind me of clowns).

PORS i liked alot - we stayed in the mansion section so i can't comment on the bayou side of the resort but i found it very pretty and peaceful, relaxing, homey feel to the resort.

December is a great time to visit wdw - have fun

If it is just the two of you and you have already given CSR a try then I would suggest giving POFQ a shot. It is the smallest of the moderates and when my husband and I stayed there back in the early 90's we found it to be very nice.

I am a huge fan of POFQ myself.

Myself and my girlfriend stayed at POFQ last year and absolutely loved it. Since it's just you and your wife, I would say stay at POFQ. As some of the others have said, it's very small and romantic. We took the boat up to POR and found it to be much more family oriented with a lot of kids running around. The FQ was much quieter and more laid back.

I would definately recommend POFQ.
