Help! Which resort is best: Coronado, Caribbean, or Port Orleans?
Trying to choose the best one for a group of 40.

IMHO I really loved both the Port Orleans's my favorite was probably French Quarter, but I really liked Riverside too. My vote is Frech Quarter though.:)

Please define "best". What are you looking for? What is important to you? These resorts are all pretty much the same. Certainly the room size/amenities/price are the same. You may want to read the reviews here when trying to decide. :disrocks:

We absolutely love the Caribbean Beach Resort. So much so that we have stayed there four years in a row and have our fifth stay already booked for 2010.

The resort rooms are a bit larger than the other moderates. The rooms were recently refurbished with some having a slight Nemo theme (no extra charge) and some having a full blown pirate theme (extra charge). If you want to be near Old Port Royale (main pool/food court/restaurant/store), you can pay a little extra and will be placed in a preferred location (one of the two villages on either side of Old Port Royale). I am not sure if you can pay for a preferred location at any of the other moderates.

The CBR is a great place to relax. There are 1) white sandy beaches, complete with hammocks and beach chairs; 2) an island in the middle of the lake that has picnic tables, benches and walkways; 3) a quiet pool in each village; 4) a main pool that has a pirate theme complete with a kids' play area and two hot tubs; 5) a marina where you can rent all sorts of watercraft and surrey bikes. Some of the beaches have small playgrounds for the kids.

The food court offers a variety of food options. There's a pizza and pasta station, a grab n go station, a burger and hot dog station and a station with deli sandwiches. Everything we have ever ordered has been good and fresh.

I have lots and lots of pictures of the rooms, the marina, the island and the resort grounds in my tirp report. Just click on the link below to have a look around.

We have stayed at all of the moderates. CBR and POR rank at the top for us. Both have beautiful and spacious grounds, great CM's, great food courts, great pools, great transportation, etc. I have to give a slight edge to CBR for better & larger rooms, the tropical atmosphere, and the best pools/slides. Both are great though! :thumbsup2 There are links to my reviews of both in my signature (with lots of pics!).

POFQ is nice, but just wasn't for us. We prefer a more spacious resort. We did not have a good experience at CSR.

Good luck! :goodvibes

A group of 40? Wow, that's alot of people. I guess it would depend on the ages of the group. And which resort could accomodate that size group.
Our personal fav resort is POR. The grounds are beautiful, is a quiet, beautiful resort. Love the boat to DTD, and Bob Jacksons show at River roost.

Haven't stayed at CBR (maybe next time), but I've stayed at the other moderates, and our favorite, by far, was Port Orleans French Quarter. It's a smaller resort, so the rooms are all relatively close to the food court and bus stop. It was the quietest of the resorts for us, maybe because of fewer people. Its nice being on the Sassagoula, so you can take the boat to DTD.

But honestly, we didn't dislike any of the moderated we've tried. Riverside and Coronado were also quite lovely in their own ways.
