I have been studying up on the moderates as an option for a Christmas trip (next year, but planning is half the fun . . .).

I understand that CSR gets points for the queen beds, but the theming there does not seem like it would lend itself well to Christmas spirit. What about Port Orleans, maybe?

I'd be interested in hearing this too!:santa: I think the Values have more Disney-feeling to them than the moderates but at Christmas....popcorn::

I'd say the Port Orleans resorts, particularly FQ. It has a great vibe and has wonderful decor at the holidays. :) That would be my choice.

liked POR - it had a big tree in the area between lobby (check in) and the gift shop and the hall going to the restuarant/food court

I really liked the French Quarter's Christmas decorations when we stayed there in January. They play up the purple, green and gold "Mardi Gras" color scheme, but it's not blatant. It just fits the resort really well. For instance:

The framed photos you see on this tree, which is in the hotel's reception area, are stills from The Princess and the Frog. I don't know whether they'll keep those in the years to come. The movie was playing in theaters during the last Christmas season. Now that there's no longer a box office tie-in, these things could disappear.
