Hi all, My husband and I are going to WDW sometime this summer either late May, early June, or July. I'm leaning more towards the late May b/c I think the crowds will be lighter. Because it is not value season and b/c my husband and I want to stay a night a Universal to see the Harry Potter world, a moderate resort makes much more sense for us, I'm just not sure which one. In the past I have stay at BWI, CR, WL, YCx2 and S&D. Loved the WL and YC not so much the others. Would love to stay at AKL just don't think its in the budget this time. Suggestion please!

We have stayed at POR, POFQ and Carribbean Beach and were very comfortable at all of them but if I had to choose a favorite it would be POFQ. It is a smaller property so the amenities are all convenient and not as far from the bus stop when you are just plain worn out! Have a great trip.

We always stay at CSR or at a deluxe, and I like CSR just as much as the deluxes. CSR is unique among the mods in offering queen beds. The rooms have been recently renovated (finished in Sept. 2009) and they are gorgeous! CSR is the only moderate to offer a fitness center, spa, salon and room service. CSR has great bus service and one of the best pools at WDW.

We have stayed at the Poly, Beach Club, AKL and Old Key West in addition to CSR. CSR is the best value by far.

Universal has not announced an opening date for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Speculation is that the grand opening will be in late May with soft openings before then. It is contractually obligated to open by June 30. We are going in July with a split stay at Portofino Bay and CSR. Can't wait!

when in July, we had thought about waiting until July 17 when the deluxe resorts go back down to the value rate, we might be able to pull off the delux at that time since it will only be $25 more a night, but I'm not sure. The only thing I can get at the CRS is a king bed which is $135 a night, which to me isn't worth it when I know I can wait a little while longer and get a room at the AKL for $140. Were military so we get the 40% discount.

First off, if you don't already know Disney just extended their discounts through 8/14 (25%off value/30%moderate/35%deluxe/40%villa deluxe) so this may make it feasible for you! If not I would recommend POFQ. The rooms are very nice and very classy and it is the smallest of the moderate resorts. We had a wonderful time there last July. That being said, we just upgraded our 7 night Pop reservation to 6 nights at AKL (my DREAM Disney resort) because they extended the 35% off Deluxe discount so you might want to look into that!

Thanks for that, but we are military so we get 40% off anyway. I think I will either do POFQ or CRS this time becuase of how we want to go to universal and, I am really hoping for a bounceback because I really want to take my mom to WDW for 4 nights and her and mine's dream resort is AKL.

For a "deluxe" lover, I woudl definitely go with the CSR for the queen beds, the spa/fitness center, the largest hot tub, new lounge with a live DJ on weekends (and no children after 9 p.m. allowed). It is a beautiful resort and DH and I now call it "home" and have celebrated our 50th birthdays and our 25th anniversary there.

For the past 3 years we have only stayed deluxe but this past June we stayed at the POFQ and fell in love with it! Great food court, nice and small resort and it is very quiet and beautiful there. Loved having my car parked right outside our room.
