We will be visiting WDW this June, (late June)! :cheer2: We haven't been in 5 years and this will be our first time with our 3 year old daughter. Due to budget reasons, we are probably going to stay at a moderate. Which one would you recommend for a 3 year old, considering convenience and just plain fun? We will have a rental car so buses are not much of an issue. We really want her first trip to be special! Thanks for any help and guidance!

Having only stayed at CBR the two recent times I am going to have to vote fot it. All the mods are nice as I have gone and walked around them. CBR has a fun atmosphere, each village has its own pool plus a short walk to the main pool and Old Port Royale. Also, the bus service is good. Like some other resorts, CBR does not share busses with other resorts which is nice. Jamaica is usually the first to be picked up and the first to be dropped off. EPCOT is close to CBR and if you are in the right area you can see the fireworks from EPCOT.

THE PROS
No sharing bus service with other resorts
Centrally located with short rides to the parks
Largest hot tub on WDW property
Awesome main pool area with bar, snack bar, playground and kiddie pool
3 quiet pools
New shuttle service eliminates long walks to any of the villages
High speed internet service
WiFi available too
Free use of the gym
Spa
Fridge in the room
Coffeemaker in the room
Iron and ironing board
full room service menu
2 arcades
beautifully landscaped
central air, not a noisey wall unit

THE CONS
Full size beds (kings size beds are available)
one sink

The Pepper Market is either a love it or hate it place. We love it but some folks just don't care for it.

Convention resort - some guests don't like seeing other guests at work. Doesn't bother us and helps keep the buses empty. GF, Cont, BW, Y & B Club are also convention resorts.

The truth is that it really doesn't matter which you choose... Everyone has there favorites but any would be a good choice. Your 3 yr old isn't going to be able to tell much difference so I think you'd be better off to choose a resort that you and your husband would enjoy. If you think you would enjoy a tropical feel choose CBR, a more laid back southern comfort feel riverside or FQ, and if south of the border is more your thing then go for CSR. Since you will have a car transportation isn't an issue. This is what I would suggest... first of course read the responses of others on these boards but remember that for almost every good comment about a resort you can find a bad one so look at the resort pages on this site or on Deb's site

Also look at the restaurants at each resort and see which appeal to you most. Each resort has things for children to enjoy so check out pictures of the pools, etc. I think you will be much more excited if you research it and decide for yourself. Once you've decided definately let us know and I am sure you will have tons of tips about whichever you choose!

CSR !!! If your daughter swims (or uses floaties) the pool slide is a lot of fun. My DS always asks to stay at CSR and has since he was about 5yo... :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

We stayed at POFQ last Jan. with our 4 and 1 year olds and loved it. It was so quiet and peaceful. The pool was fun, both boys loved it. 3 year olds don't need a lot, really. As a toddler/preschooler mom, I am looking for extra peace and quiet to balance out all the excitement of being at Disney. It was nice for us, as parents, to have a quieter neutral zone that was pretty- helped us recharge and keep the whole family centered and calm. We're planning to stay there again, this January.

Thanks for all the advice! I've been researching and we stayed at CBR years ago, but it really helps to have advice from those who have done it with kids. We definitely need a recharge area during the day. I also hadn't thought about checking the menus; great idea since we'll probably be using the food service for convenience. Thanks again!

Voting for POFQ!! Romantic and enjoyable for children, too!! Best moderate IMHO! :teeth:

I second that!!! POFQ is the smallest and most peaceful of all the WDW resorts! :cheer2:
