Which Miniature Golf...

We're going to do one on our trip next week but I'm not sure which one to go to ... (either Fantasia Gardens or Winter Summerland).

We're looking for something of standard difficulty as fun as mini-golf goes...nothing very hard... but we are looking for something with really elaborate theming and interactive elements....

So which one do you suggest?

This was on our list of things to do but we never got there. However, what I read about the 2 course lead me to believe that Fantasia was more difficult than Winter Summerland and better suited for older grade school kids through adults. Since we have a pre-schooler we had planned on going to Winter Summerland.

We've done both during past visits with our two kids ages 8 and 6. Winter Summerland has great theming centered around Christmas. One 18-hole course with a summer twist (melting snowman, surfing, etc) while the other 18-hole side is surrounded with snow and winter ideas. We did the Summer side two years ago during a January visit and the kids loved it.
Fantasia Gardens is themed around musical portions of the movie but also has a more difficult 18-hole course with plenty of slopes and bunkers to avoid. We did the Fantasia-themed side last summer and was also a big hit. Good news is, you won't go wrong either way.

My DH and I played the Winter side of Winter Summerland and had a great time on our own. If you have young children, there is something extra fun about playing a Winter-themed course in 90 degree weather :-).

I've done 2 out of 3 of the courses and prefer Fantasia Gardens. Here are some pix.

Can you tell me if I'm right or not. I thought I remember reading that there was a mini-golf place in Wide World Of Sports. We have the Ultimate pass that includes this park. What I'm wondering, is there a mini-golf included? Where are these golf places you are talking about(Fantasia&Summer/Winter)?

Fantasia Gardens is across the street from the Swan and Dolphin resorts. Winter-Summerland is located at Blizzard Beach.

Welcome to the DIS.

Our resort reservations came with a mention of free mini golf for all of us in the room (listed seperately). When I asked about it- they told me that means we get one free round of mini-golf. Does that mean at either Fantasia or Winter Summerland? Or is there a place, as the other poster mentioned, at Wide World of Sports?

I was also wondering how to get to them. I never see much about them and haven't a clue how to get there. Do you have to drive yourself or go some elaborate route using buses and lots of walking or what?

OH wow- had to post and thank you for showing the links to your pictures. I think from the pictures my kids would enjoy winterland the best. Nothing like having an early Christmas with fake snow for us Texans. LOL

That's where we'll go.... if it's not too hard to get there and if that's what they mean with the free mini-golf in our reservations. LOL

Don't hear a lot of talk about these- even on this board- I wonder if it's a place to go if the parks are packed- cause they might not be?

BibbidyBobbidyBoo..yes I'm sure they'll let you choose either golf course. They'll probably give you a voucher good at either one when you check in.

I don't believe there is a mini golf course at WWS.

As for getting to Winter/Summerland you take the bus to Blizzard Beach. You can see the course from where you get off the bus,not a long walk at all.I haven't been to Fantasia so I'm not sure how to get there.

Thanks anyway- but we don't need to know how to get to Fantasia. Already settled- we're going to Winterland. hahaha I guess I never saw it- because I never went on any buses going to Blizzard Beach..... yet. :)

Thanks bunches!

I've done both winter and summer of Winter/Summerland. Personally, I much prefer the winter side. I thought it was so funny seeing snowmen in the 90+ degree July weather.

(Not sure why I'd think it was so funny to see snow, when I see it all winter here, but that's another story).

Thanks for the pics of Winterland. I can't wait to go there with ds (4). I saw some good Christmas card opportunities!:D :D :D

I would recommend Winter / Summerland for standard difficulty with good (outstanding!) theming.
