Hi all!
I've been looking for a bag to carry around in Disney. It needs to hold my digital camera, money, lip balm, sunscreen, etc. I don't want anything thats gonna be too heavy or uncomfortable. So which of these two do you all think?

I am a little bit pooh-sized, I wear an 18 or so, will I have a problem with either of these bags?

Thanks:thumbsup2

I use a MEC messanger bag similar to the first choice and I find it works great.

I have the MEC Transit 4 Shoulder Bag for days by myself and the MEC Transit 6 Shoulder Bag for days with the kids. The Transit 6 held 3 poncho's, a wallet, lip balm, band aids, 1 water bottle, granola bars.

Either of your bags look great too, with MEC you just can't beat their prices.

I actually have a #1 and we used it for our last Disney Trip and it will work perfectly for what you need. You'll be able to fit a fair amount and is not uncomfortable.

I ordered the second one...It's great...I use it all the time....I think it will be great for the parks

I bought a red pod sling bag (your second choice) and I love it! I use it every time I travel. The phone compartment fits my digi camera for quick and easy access and the 2 zippered pockets carry everything else I need. I wear it so that it is on my back so accessing it for something quick is not as easy as something you would be able to access from your hip (like if you're carrying a purse/bag across your chest). It is masculine enough too that my husband will wear it for me if I get tired of carrying it around.

Wow - I never thought of MEC. We have been searching for a park bag.

I like #1 - does it have alot of organizing pockets inside?

I think the sling will be easier for the security checks into the park.
Looks like there are fewer zippers to open and easier access to look into the main compartment.
Cell phone on the front is handy.
Pack on the back is less likely to get caught on something or in the way.
Easy access when you need to get in it.
Looks large enough to throw in a poncho if you needed it.

I have #2. It is so good for the parks. I've used it the past 2x I've been to DL. I have even worn it on rides as it's small enough to put to the side of your body. The water bottle holder is great. I've put my 2-way radio in the cell phone holder. I've even squeezed my fleecy jacket into this bag.

I'm taking it with me next week when we fly off to Hong Kong/Macao/Phuket for spring break. It is just fantastic for overall travel. I can fit a book, a magazine, an iPod, make-up, passport -- everything I need in there.

I have number 2. Best park and everyday bag I have ever owned and washes up like new:goodvibes

those are both great looking bags, I was also looking for a nice bag to use at the parks, I saw this one in zellers it looks nice and comes in some great colours

its the heys travel mate

You can get the Heys travelmate for free if you collect Aeroplan points.

I believe it is 5,000 aeroplan points.

I have both the Heys Travelmate and the MEC Carry All....I've had the Carry All for almost 10 years, and absolutely love it. Last year I came accross the Heys Travelmate, and bought it especially for our trip to WDW...It was ok, but some things annoyed me:

1. The water bottle mesh holder was too small, and started ripping off from the first day.
2. The zippered pocket at the front did not zipper at the top (just two zippers down the sides), and the zippers kept falling down to about mid-way. Very annoying.
3. It's kind of cool because you can wear it on your back if you like, but it's not as easily accessible as the Carry All.

This year I'm going back to my old favourite, the MEC Carry All...I think it's a little bigger than the Heys, but as long as I consciously don't overfill it, it'll be ok.

I used the Heys Travelmate on my last Disney trip and loved it! I like that it hangs on your front and its totally hands-free. Its has lots of little pockets which came in handy to sore money, park tickets, fastpasses, etc. It also comes in great colours. I have it in red and purple.

I have two of the Pod Sling Packs, I use one as an everyday purse and I love it :lovestruc They are really sturdy and comfortable, I like how you can swing it under your arm so that you can get into it while still wearing it. I had the blue one first, but found that it would show dirt easier (although easy to clean, I just couldn't keep it clean in the winter). I am curently using the black one. The only problem I've found is that if I pack my bag with heavy items I get a bit of neck strain, because of this I find I use my backpack in the parks.

Hey All,
I use this MEC bag. The flux sling pack. I love it because it has numerous compartments so you can keep things seperate. It also has retractable front snaps (ideal for a wet umbrella or rain ponchos). The great thing about one shoulder is that you can just slide it around to the front when you need stuff. None of the taking the bag off of a backpack. I also find the one shoulder much more comfortable then the messanger bag style. I have travelled Europe, Egypt and Disney with this bag and it has never let me down!

I used the first one at Disney.

It was big enough to hold lots but small enough that it did not get in the way. There is a nice mesh zipper area where I could keep the fast pass, and AP. I could check to make sure they were there without opening anything. The bag could hold a couple of bottles of water in the main area. I always had my camera in there too. I like the way there are different compartments or various sizes and security (zipper or open) The back has a nice area to put the park map or tour plan so you can pull it out easily, without having to undo the main bag.

I love it so much I still use it at home instead of my purse...

My wife has the first one. She uses it daily for her purse. She also pits it in a small backpack and puts her lunch and other stuff in it. Great for disney.

I find the pod sling to be too small for my dslr camera so my DD12 uses it for her smaller camera and poncho autograph book etc. I found that the sling bag crossed my body in a way that accentuated parts I didn't want accentuated, ahem.

the MEC travel shoulder bag is excellent for a heavier camera, and I also was able to tote ponchos and all other park necessities. I also liked that I could shorten the strap and carry it on my shoulder or carry it messenger style.

Both are good bags and very sturdy.
