DOES ANYONE KNOW WHICH LONGHOUSE HAS THE ROOMS FOR DISABILITY. cAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE AS WELL. DO THE ROOMS HAVE BALCONY OR CASTLE VIEW?

THANKS,

There are quite a few accessible rooms in Rapa Nui. I've been told that another building has a few and on these boards I think I've read that Tokelau might be that building.. At any rate, the rooms look the same as any others in the newer, larger buildings. They do have a lower peephole and a flashing alert thingie. The rooms are large enough to have both a walker and a wheelchair along the wall by the connecting door.

The big difference is in the bathroom. We've had two different configuations...one with a bath with bars and the other type has no tub but a roll-in shower. The bathroom has the lavoratory against the wall and no partition for the water closet....just one large room. Our DD finds it a good layout. I hope they add an accessible room or two to Hawaii when they renovate it.

There is a parking lot directly outside the doors of Rapa Nui which is wonderfully handy.

Tokelau and Rapa Nui have the rooms outfitted to help the disabled. Here is a link to my Rapa Nui page showing some pictures of the bathrooms which is the only difference. The rooms that I have seen like this all face the garden areas of the resort in Rapa Nui and not the parking lot side.

Yes, the accessible rooms in Rapa Nui that we've been in have all faced the garden view...very pretty and peaceful.

Here's the phone number for WDW Resort Special Reservations:

They should be able to answer your accessiblity questions and help you get the type of room you need. There are differnt levels of handicapped accessible rooms. The ones with the roll in shower are the fully wheelchair accessible rooms and the ones with the tub with bars are handicapped accessible. (PS, nice page, Tikiman)
