Which kitchen do you like better?

I like the second better, but not with that granite choice. I think cherry cabs look better with darker granites.

I'd also lighten the flooring, and add under-cabinet lighting.

If the room gets lots of natural light, then the dark cabinets won't matter.

The paint color is called Melted Butter by Behr. The color is really a warmer shade of yellow but in the pic it looks like lemon yellow.

I would definitely go with the second one. I just think it looks like a nicer kitchen. People keep saying that it doesn’t matter if it looks “rich” or not, but who in the world wants their home to look cheap? To me, the first one looks like it’s the standard kitchen that they put into all new homes in the early 90’s. The second looks a little more modern and custom. I don’t mind the lighting, I think it makes the room seem more cozy. The only change I would make would be to the island. I would make it wood instead of white.

I like the second kitchen better. I have light cabinets that I picked out 8 years ago when my house was built. If I had to pick now I would choose the darker cabinets and I love the stainless steel appliances.

The dark ones!!!!! Ohh I am so jealous. Those are my DREAM cabinets. We're building and have to go with everything the cheapest. Hopefully that will at least be raised panel white ones...if not we can always upgrade one day........

Your kitchen is beautiful! Thanks for adding the paint color. I just bought my first house and I'm trying to pick out paint colors - it's a lot harder than I thought! That color seems very close to what I'm hoping to put in my kitchen and dining room. I'll have to go look for the paint chip at the store.

We are builiding and I haven't met with the kitchen designer yet, but the 2nd kitchen is more in the direction that I'm going.
