This is the weekend you'll hear them most.

I like America the beautiful the most, and although not known as a patriotic song, I love to hear

Fanfare for the common man...

I get goosebumps everytime I hear it.

God Bless Texas
Ok..so it's not exactly patriotic, but I always lump it with the patriotic songs anyway.

God blessed Texas with His own hands, brought down angels from the promise land.
He gave them a place so they could dance.
If you wanna see Heaven, brother, here's your chance.
I'm just out to spread the message, "GOD BLESS TEXAS!". :)

No, I don't love my state. Why do you ask? ;)

"America the Beautiful" is my favorite. I like the Ray Charles version & Elvis version equally but Boston Pops in the Arthur Fiedler days would literally take my breath away when they played our national hymn.

O beautiful, for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain, For purple mountain majesties Above the fruited plain! America! America! God shed His grace on thee, And crown thy good with brotherhood, from sea to shining sea. O beautiful, for pilgrim feet Whose stern, impassioned stress A thoroughfare for freedom beat Across the wilderness! America! America! God mend thine ev'ry flaw; Confirm thy soul in self control, thy liberty in law! O beautiful, for heroes proved In liberating strife, Who more than self their country loved And mercy more than life! America! America! May God thy gold refine, 'Til all success be nobleness, and ev'ry gain divine! O beautiful, for patriot dream That sees beyond the years, Thine alabaster cities gleam Undimmed by human tears! America! America! God shed His grace on thee, And crown thy good with brotherhood, from sea to shining sea!
Have a great day! :)

America the Beautiful, Anchors Away, and if This Land is Your Land and American Patrol count, then those, too. :)

I love patriotic songs..hard to have a favorite but God Bless the USA would have to be it.

Sorry, can't choose just one, as these three hold equal meaning in my eyes.

America the Beautiful
This Land is your Land
The Star Spangled Banner

I'm torn..

I get all teary with America the Beautiful & the Star Spangled Banner

The Star Spangled Banner by far. Can't you just picture Francis Scott Key writing it during the war of 1812. Watching as a prisoner on a ship watching the bombardment of the Baltimore harbor seeing the American flag that it was still there waving, It just gives me goose bumps

Star-Spangled Banner for the lyrics (the music is awkward, IMO.) On music I will certainly second Fanfare for the Common Man.

Least favorite: God Bless the U.S.A. I dislike it intensely; I think the lyrics go way past patriotic and into jingoistic territory.

In terms of meaning, words, etc. The Star Spangled Banner.

In terms of the performance, nothing can tough Elvis' American Trilogy

PS - Maybe it's just my crankiness, but I've always felt Proud to Be an American is a song about Lee Greenwood, not a song about the US.

God Bless the USA by Lee Greenwood
America by Neil Diamond
Yankee Doodle Dandy

God Save the Queen :goodvibes

and Land of Hope and Glory!

While not a Brit, I love God Save The Queen too! :thumbsup2 (Although I catch myself singin along and go off into My Coutry Tis Of Thee....:lmao: )
