Which resort is your absolute favorite, and the one to which you keep returning???

Why do you love your favorite? What is it about this resort?

I am thinking about trying a different resort for our upcoming trip, but I am afraid to try something new. Last time I did, we left after one night, and checked into the favorite.

My absolute favorite is WL. We usually visit WDW at least every other year, sometimes once a year. What we do is stay at WL on a visit and the next, try a new resort. Every other visit is spent at WL. We love WL because of the atmosphere and personality of the resort. Hearing the soundtrack from "Last of the Mohicans" upon entering the hotel is something we look forward to. The grounds are beautiful, all the food places are wonderful and the pool and waterfalls makes you feel like your at a lodge at Yosemite. Also, the easy access to MK is a bonus!

Contemporary Tower ~ it is a Disney original / close to the MK / on the monorail / view of the MK from your room / great restaurants.

Of all the trips I have taken, I have stayed at CR the most. However, I have tried many others - POR, POFQ, All-Star Sp, Boardwalk Inn, Dolphin. I was not disappointed in staying at any on-site resorts!

My longtime favorite is POR (Dixie Landings to me)-I've stayed there 5 times over the years. But we recently became DVC members, and this last time I tried BCV. Although I've only been there once so far, I have a feeling it will soon become my favorite.
I love the food court at POR (coincidently DS used to work at a cotton gin); also I love the grounds-I love birds and all nature, really enjoy the nature there, also I've been very pleased with the bus service there. I've also tried WL, VWL, AKL, POFQ, FW, ASMusic, ASSports, and OKW (DH's favorite).
I think I'm going to love BCV because of the peacefulness listening to the faint strains of the Epcot WS music, the ability to have a cup of coffee or tea on my balcony, and the closeness to the IG.

My favorite is BWV, followed by BCV. I love the location of both of these hotels. We are new DVC members (bought resale at BWV), and I was very happy to get BWV as our "home" resort. We've stayed there once and BCV once, and they are both great! I also really enjoyed staying at WL on my first trip to WDW with my DH. I've stayed at the Contemporary (early '80's, with my parents), the BC with my DH, the GF with my DH, and the AKL (the only resort we didn't like...too noisy!). We are staying for 5 nights at BCV and 2 nights at the Swan (got it for $69/night on Priceline!) in May. I can't wait to try the Swan

So far, CSR is my fave, but I haven't stayed at many. We are new DVC owners so we will be conducting a 40 year experiment on which resorts are best.

I love the Epcot area, I own DVC at Boardwalk. The Villas are wonderful, as is the Inn and Beach Club. Old Key West is nice with large rooms and a quiet setting. For non-DVC, we also loved the Grand Floridian. For a moderate, I recently stayed at POFQ and really liked it. I've stayed at all 4 now and pick POFQ as my favorite because it's smaller. Of all the resorts I've stayed at, the one I really didn't like was the Polynesian, too dark and musty. Also wasn't crazy about Coronado, too far away from everything and too many business people.

Can't get enough of the Polynesian. Our family has been there in 96, 98, 00, 01, 02 and will be there in June this year. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

jimmalru80, what is it about the poly that keeps you going back there and not going anywhere else. I have never stayed there, but wonder what the attraction is for all those that truly love this resort.

Animal Kingdom Lodge.... by far. So much so that we are taking our whole family in December. I don't think I will ever stay at another hotel on Disney property again

Allstar Music is my favorite resort and it's where DH and I will return everytime. As much as I would like to stay in the GF, I just can't justify the price for as little time I spend in the room and at the resort. The SOG was very nice too when DH was in the military. It was the only deluxe resort I got to stay in. For $69 a night, it was OUTSTANDING!!! For me, the Allstar Music resort is just perfect financially and location wise.

#1 - Grand Floridian!! We stay there at least once a year.
#2 - Port Orleans - Riverside - Alligator Bayou.
#3 - Poly.

There is nothing else like the GF. We feel like we are "home" when we are there. Unfortunately if we want to visit 3-4 times a year, we can't always stay there. We do like Alligator Bayou a lot too. It is so peaceful! We always feel like we are alone when we are there.

Why do we like the GF the best? I suppose the atmosphere. It's pure Disney Magic 24/7 wherever you are on property ... even the restrooms! I love waking up and walking over to the Grill for coffee and donuts, the whole time looking at the castle over the lake... pure magic!

My favorite is now the BWI after staying there last summer and my second is the Polynesian....

I love my favorite so much that I am afraid to stay somewhere else. I am afraid that I will regret it, and that the new resort will never live up to my favorite.

I think I might end up splitting my stay, and stay at my favorite last. That just might be the answer. Or I can save my favorite for Christmas when the atmosphere is the most magical, and then keep the favorite resort as a "special" place.

Mine is the POLY......stayed there five times since going to WDW.....the second is double-tree suites....love it cause this is where we stay if we are not at the POLY.

I have 2 favorites.. one a moderate and the other a deluxe... they are PO-FQ and the Contemporary

I always have room in my heart for more favorites, so we try a different one everytime... but we keep the above 2 near and dear to our hearts. We still have a few left to try, though... so you never know. I would love to try the Poly sometime!


Why do you love your favorite? What is it about this resort?

PO-FQ- quaint, tranquil, picturesque, compact, great food court, 1st on and off of the bus going and coming from the parks, boat to DTD, boat to PO-R, choice of 2 themed pools, great castmembers, central to most of WDW, great theming, great slide (this is my DD's thing...lol)

The Contemporary-- Mickey's resort, unique, one of the originals, bright colors, energetic, convenient, nice restaurants, good counter service, huge game room ( my DH's suggestion...lol), nice pools, great castmembers, huge rooms, best bathroom layout on property, great gift shops, great coffee bar.
