Which is the best meal at Akershus?

We ate there in Dec. for breakfast and we loved it. The cold buffet was great--especially the fresh salmon and bagels. The hot selection was great too--the potatoes were wonderful.

we really enjoyed dinner (DH and I).....Older DD was 7 and wasn't thrilled with dinner. She told me yesterday "At least this year I can eat off the adult menu so I don't have to eat off their awful kid menu" :rotfl2:. Not sure what her problem was.....DD4 loved it!!!

For us Breakfast is the best meal hands down. We tried both lunch and dinner and at least one of us didn't enjoy it.

Breakfast has a nice cold buffet and we really like the family style plate that comes.

Also if you can get a nice early ADR (we aim for 8:00) you're in the first group and things just feel less rushed. Everyone is 'fresh' and enthusiastic. And if you time it right (and pay your check early ) you can get out in plenty of time for park opening.

I haven't done dinner there but between breakfast and lunch, I preferred breakfast by a wide margin. The lunch menu didn't appeal to me - I ended up with the stuffed pasta dish. The pasta itself wasn't so bad but it was drowning in this white sauce that tasted like something off a frozen Lean Cuisine meal. The dessert plate was good though.

Ate there for dinner in Oct. 09 and loved it. I really enjoyed the cold buffet and the fish I had was excellent. The service was outstanding and the princesses were a lot of fun. The manager made a point to visit the tables and check in. It will definitely on our ADR list as a dinner for our next trip.

We loved the breakfast as well! We actually booked one of the latest breakfast times so it was more of a brunch for us. My DD5 and DD1 really enjoyed the food as well -- as did my DH and myself.

The buffet is always my favorite especially the two kinds of pickeled herring, the lox, the "caramel" cheese (it's smokied goat cheese but it looks and tastes like slices of caramel! For entrees, I love the trout when they have it, the portato/leek soup and the pasta. Rice Cream for dessert is da bomb! Aquavite drinks for an adult beverage is the way to go and they will put it in a to go cup for you if you haven't finished. Just like the French Quarter!

Aquavit is very very dangerous!! haha ;) But if it's a cold FL night, it will keep you nice and toasty!

We have had both breakfast and dinner here, and enjoyed both very much. I would say that I think the kids enjoyed dinner more though. They loved the cold buffet for dinner, and all liked their entrees. I got the fish dish, and thought it as cooked perfectly, and DH got the kjotte (Swedish meatballs) and licked the plate clean. As for desserts, let's just say we ordered seconds ;)
I feel like breakfast, although good, was pretty standard Disney breakfast fare.
