One of the main reasons I loved BCV recently was the serenity and quiet, but convenience to Epcot. I'd wanted to stay at BWV, but I'm afraid it would be too "busy"/bustling. Can anyone confirm my fears, or hopefully, tell me I'm wrong? I'd really like to pay the fewer points at BWV standard if it's just as quiet. So how do the 2 resorts compare? In addition to the poll, I'd welcome anyone's comments. Thanks.

I have stayed at BWV. But I have not stayed at BCV, though I have been over there several times. I would give the edge to BWV for places to find quiet. There's just more room to roam in peace behind BWV: along the canal to MGM, the stream, the grass.

Quiet depends on what kind of room you get and where you go. The BWV Standard Views are quiet. The quiet pool at BWV is quiet. Both Luna Park and SAB are not quiet. The Boardwalk itself has more people on it than BCV's lagoon-side, since there are more things to do. Probably the place you LEAST want to be for quiet is at or near ESPN.

I think there's plenty of quiet at BWV. You can walk along the canal that goes to MGM. You can walk along the grass and the stream that separates the buildings from the parking lot (if I am not mistaken, the BCV parking lots are a lot closer to the buildings than at BWV).

Staying in a Standard view at BWV, I have no problems with noise, other than a few kids in the hallway on rare occasions.

I have stayed at both, and IMO the BCV are much more quiet. The road behind the villas is very noisy, but if the balcony door is closed, it's very quiet.

While I think the rooms at the BCV are just gorgeous, I actually prefer the hustle and bustle of the BWV. I love the standard view of the front entrance of the resort. (I live in the woods at home, so people-watching is something I rarely get to do!) ;)

I've stayed at both resorts, and I feel that BoardWalk actually has more rooms with peaceful views than the Beach Club. I think the Beach Club is a smaller resort, with about a 50/50 chance of getting highway view. The Highway doesn't bother me, because I've grown up with traffic noise, living on a busy highway. But, for some, even with the sliding glass door closed, they can hear that highway noise.

I love some of the areas around Beach Club, for lounging, but BoardWalk has those too, and BoardWalk has those wonderful rocking chairs on the Verandah. I believe Beach Club has them too, but not as big a sitting area.

The noise at the BoardWalk, if you have a BoardWalk view, is definitely there, but when I close my sliding glass doors, I do not hear anything.

Both resorts are lovely and have pluses and minuses! Actually, I'd say, you can't lose choosing either one of them. I believe Beach Club is actually a closer walk to EPCOT, and That I liked a lot! But, BW has more eating options. And, there is a nice peaceful set of rooms that overlook the water way and MGM Studios, I believe they are standard rooms too, and cost less points. And, I've found the standard rooms overlooking the Valet area to be a great place to stay. You get a great room for a lot less points.

We haven't stayed at BCV yet, but all of our rooms (standard view) at BWV have been "quiet". If one seeks more "action", the Boardwalk is always right down the hall.........

The more I think about this poll, the more I see that it is being considered as a glass half-empty vs. a glass half-full.

If you ask which of BCV and BWV has the most places where there is noise, the answer is BWV.

And if you ask which of BCV and BWV has the most places where there is quiet, the answer is also BWV.

So the real answer is that it depends on just what it is that you are looking for.

If what you are really looking for is a place where you can have a number of different good-sized quiet areas, then a standard view at BWV is where you should go.

If you are totally averse to ever running into any noise at your resort, then neither BCV nor BWV can accomodate you, since both have noisy areas.

The fact that BWV has more nosiy areas -- and one of them (ESPN) much noisier than anything at BCV -- than may at first seem like a reason not to choose BWV, but a deeper look tells a different story. In proportion to the overall grounds, the noisiest places at BWV are less of a percentage of the overall space that is available to you than is true at BCV. I also found that the walkways at BCV were narrower and thus more congested than at BWV. In addition, the noisiest place at BWV (ESPN) is actually on the BWI side and pretty far away from the Villas. In fact, I think that there may be some BCV rooms that are actually closer to ESPN than some of the BWV rooms.

LOL! I didn't vote because my vote would have been OKW!:p

That's OK, I understand-DH is exactly the same way. That's why I sometimes go solo, it's my only chance to stay anywhere except OKW. Although I do like it there, DH won't go to WDW unless he stays there!

I found that the doors at BWV didn't do a very good job of keeping out the noise of people arriving and departing at their rooms. I also had a view of Luna Park. The end result is 18 hours a day of random noise...that's a problem. At BCV I had a view of the road and the canal. I found that noise less bothersome. Sitting out on the balcony wasn't irksome.

So...I guess the answer really comes down to where your room is located versus anything else. Will I stay again at BWV? Only if I can get a standard view or a view of the quiet pool. BCV...I'll try to avoid the rooms near the walkway to the BC...other than that I didn't see any rooms that would bother me from a noise perspective...

One thing I did learn in general (for the future)...you don't want to be too close to the elevator. The beeping goes on forever.

OKW and VWL are the champions of quiet.

BCV is the quite'st resort I have ever stayed at. No bus noise, didn't hear a peep from other guests, pool and spa were quite- not a single "Marco-Polo". Very peacefull.

We stayed at the BCV this Fall. We had the "service road view". When you sit on the balcony, it's VERY noisy all day and night. We couldn't even hold a conversation. Bus, truck and car traffic begins early in the morning and continues all night. We couldn't hear it when we closed the doors that much.
Even with a 3rd floor Boardwalk view at the BWV, it's dead quiet with the balcony doors closed. The view is just so much better!
